New Horizons RV Builds Custom Fifth Wheel For Medical Company

Mobile Health Clinic RV

When HealthCore’s new mobile clinic rolls into underserved communities, it always brings a lot of smiles – but the first two belonged to employees at the company that built it.

Luis Alvarado and Troy Madron, who work at New Horizons RV in Junction City, Kan., had always wanted to have their smiles fixed but lacked the resources, so HealthCore provided the dental work at no cost.

“We love promoting a healthy community,” said Davna Gould, HealthCore Clinic director of communications. “This was one small way we could make a difference in the New Horizons community and say, ‘thank you’ for everything they had done for us.”

HealthCore operates a 45,000-square-foot complex in Wichita, Kan., but needed a mobile clinic to take its services to vulnerable populations at school-based sites and outreach events.

“Our specific requirements made it clear we would need a custom build to have ample space for providing medical, dental and behavioral health with respect and dignity to the community,” Gould said.

A national search revealed New Horizons as the best company for the job, according to HealthCore.

“The New Horizons team was passionate about our mission, shared our vision and had a reputation of excellence unmatched in the industry,” said Gould. “As we provided challenges, they provided solutions.”

New Horizons was able to fit two medical exam rooms, one behavioral health room, two dental chairs, a lab, waiting area and restroom into one of its 45-foot Majestic RVs.

“Challenges New Horizons faced when building this rig started with drafting the exam rooms with basic dimensions,” said Cole Brokenicky, product specialist. “We had to make certain everything was handicap accessible and we needed to accommodate a wheelchair lift. Staying within regulation was a challenge, but it was well worth it.”

“They are pioneers in their field with a level of hospitality, customer service and craftsmanship that makes them the absolute best,” Gould said. “We didn’t just find a builder, we found a partner, and we will carry that partnership with us everywhere this amazing mobile clinic goes.”
