For those of you who have been pining away for the Sealander unique sea and land caravan’s release to North America since it was released in Germany in 2012, we have been trying to keep abreast on any updates. The latest notice actually comes on two websites with one being a Sealander-contracted facsimile for this hotly sought-after land and sea RV creation.
Originally founded in 2012, designed and manufactured in Germany, Sealander’s appeal was instantly high and requests to sell them in the U.S. have been non-stop. (Check our original article and overview on the Sealander) We’ve had a steady stream of requests for updates and non-stop queries since we first published our article. As we’ve maintained a watchful eye, we finally discovered and contacted a frantic buyer turned manufacturer. In his zeal for the product and frustration being unable to purchase domestically in the U.S., he forged a contract with Sealander to legally produce them. This company is known as ‘Land & Sea Amphibious RV’. But as yet, they are still under design phase, and final details and options have so far prevented a firm release date.
In the meantime, the insistence for North American production and sales has found it’s way to Canada. Sealander/Canada is now taking orders. Delivery estimates are at 12 weeks after manufacturing. Manufacturing time and placing your order is best determined by contacting Sealander/Canada directly. Sealander
The Sealander is a worldwide unique amphibious vehicle. It is a combination of trailer, caravan and yacht in one. High quality and aesthetics of boat-building are combined with the flexibility of a mobile home that results in a dynamic and modern product.
The Sealander is an innovative lightweight vehicle that is a custom-made caravan in the first place, but with the help of a few handles and an outboard engine it turns into an a swimming place for relaxation.
There is no special license needed to operate the Sealander. Just slide it into the water and go fishing, swimming, relax in the sun under the opened roof, have candelight dinner at sunset or do whatever your heart desires – on land or on water!
There are several features that will make your sailing even more enjoyable – a convertible sunroof, a telescopic element that can be used as a swim ladder, and a stainless steel handrail to ensure safe boarding.
The Sealander is made of a one-piece hull formed of GRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic), a material that is extremly stable but light at the same time.
The wide windows enable a great view on land and seascapes.
The materials are finished with finest details and precision. The sleek and lovely interior combines modern materials like stainless steel and plastic with more traditional materials like leather and wood to create a clean and unique design.
