The cost of fulltiming?VeronicaRetiring next week. Always wanted to rv fulltime, but the economy has us scared. What is the annual income needed to rv fulltime? We have a 30' travel trailer with a slide-out. We do not have any bills, but gas has gone up and campgrounds seem to be getting very expensive. What would be the minimum amount needed to travel, and still get to sightsee America? Thank for any info on this.

Thinking about fulltimingAlyceI have been thinking about fulltiming for some time now, but have run into some roadblocks. I moved to NY state after living in NC for 11 years. Originally from Mass. My kids are in NY, Mass and RI and I have friends in NC, Florida and Michigan.. NY state is pretty expensive, and I want to explore fulltiming, but, let's face it, I am chicken! Also in remission for lymphoma, a big roadblock! But don't want to wait too long to get started. Any thoughts? 845-313-5877 - 5/26/09

We've been schlepping back and forth for 12 years and at last we're ready for the big move. Fulltiming has been our ambition for years and I can hardly believe we're going to do it at last.

Re:More snowbirds may become fulltimersMadge ChampyWe've snowbirded in Florida for the last 3 years but this year will be our last. In April we're going to return to Michigan and sell our house IF WE CAN and if house prices go up again and prepare for fulltiming. We're tired of schlepping back and forth and the cost of a house we only live in part of the year. Fulltiming is very attractive now and several of our retired and RVing friends are thinking this way too.
Re:More snowbirds may become fulltimersJane AWe've been snowbirds in Florida for 4 years and I wouldn't want to do it fulltime. But if our finances worsen it's not a bad idea.
An RV - what more could anyone need?JGI've recently noticed a trend of people moving away from the McMansion and into smaller Bungalow homes or even RVs. I'm 34 and have had several RVs in my short time and am now up to a B+ motorhome. I have to say that during hurricane Ike, when we did not have power we stayed in the RV (2 people, 2 large dogs and 1 small). It was the best time I've had and was sad when the electricity in the house came back on in a way. I've always known that I will retire in an RV, but now more than ever I'm really excited about it. I mean what more could any one need? I just don't get the couples that want 3+K sqf for the two of them and the cost of upkeep and utilities. At the moment I'm very happy in my 1Kaqf bungalow... I think the world is changing and the McMansion will no longer be the desired thing. Woo Hoo for us in RVs, we have the best of both worls and can live where ever we want...by the beach, hill country or anywhere.
Want a like travel-partnerDoreenI am 66, look 50 to 50+. Wish to join an Rv'er. I would like for Rita Thompson to contact me. I am considerate, & compatible with a non-smoker, non-drinker, non-drugs, straight female that enjoys warm places more than cold places, board and card games, walk in the forest, thrift shops, a writer is a plus. I am kind, considerate and consider myself to be an excellent conversationist.I am wise, have great common-sense and I am intelligent and want a like travel-partner. I enjoy walking, and being a friend. I am a Tauras, May born. Please contact me. This is my first time on the web-site and do not know how to reply to your ad's/comments. Can anyone help me? Practical fulltiming advice wantedWannabe fulltime femaleI'm so happy to have found this site. There are so many of you RVers that I'd love to talk to about the pros and cons of RVing. I'm not there yet, but in the process of doing my research and trying to (realistically!) imagine what it would be like to downsize. I'd be glad of any practical advice. Thanks a bunch!
