John E :  The Botanic Garden is really part of the Capitol complex and you can visit the Capitol as well if you have time. A new Capitol visitor center is currently being built. This visitor center is enormous, about three quarters of the size of the capitol itself. So the whole area is being redeveloped with the new National Garden and the Capitol Visitor Center.
