Bricktown,
Oklahoma
City
...
Oklahoma
City,
Oklahoma
|
|
| Bricktown,
in
Oklahoma
City,
is
a
wonderful
story
of
redevelopment.
Bricktown
is
an
entertainment
and
dining
development
salvaged
from
an
old
industrial
warehouse
district
|

|
| This
area
is
really
nice,
we
recommend
anyone
traveling
to
the
area
to
visit
it.
The
area
is
near
the
Santa
Fe
railway
tracks.
Around
the
early
1900's,
brick
was
the
most
available
building
material
-
hence
the
architectural
flavor
of
the
area
-
and
of
course,
the
name
"bricktown".
|
| Redevelopment
took
place
beginning
in
the
1980's
and
ongoing
since.
The
real
incentive
was
cheap
buildings
ready
for
modification,
vacant
lots
for
parking
and
tax
credits
for
restoration
-
and
it
all
continues
to
make
this
a
delightful
area
to
visit. |
