-
the
pub
that
inspired
the
TV
series
-
is
on
Beacon
Hill
in
Boston.
It's
open
every
day
-
except
Christmas
Day
-
from
11am.
The
TV
series
ran
for
11
series
starting
in
1982,
and
repeats
of
it
have
shown
ever
since.

The
pub
itself
-
the
Bull
and
Finch
-
opened
in
1969
and
you
can
still
see
the
original
sign
as
you
go
down
the
famous
steps.

When
you
walk
into
the
pub,
your
first
impression
is
that
it
isn't
anything
like
the
interior
of
the
pub
in
the
series.
The
TV
series
had
an
island
bar,
the
pub
has
a
wall
bar.
The
series
really
only
used
the
shots
of
the
exterior
of
course
and
built
a
set
in
Hollywood
for
the
interior.

|
It's
a
fun
place
to
visit.
Good
food
and
a
great
atmosphere.
They
don't
really
know
your
name
of
course,
but
it
was
friendly
and
we
loved
it;

When we visited Boston this was top of my list for things to do. It's got a great atmosphere even though the inside is different from the TV series. It was quite crowded when we were there and we had to wait for a table. The food was good.
