| George Washington's house | James | I'd like to know how and where the research was done to come up with that green for the small dining room. I realize that times change, but in all the stories and history telling of George and Martha Washington one would never get the idea that they would have lived with such a color. Was it really used at Mount Vernon or are we being shown this color because it is indicative of its use by some people of the time of Washington? It is a very disturbing color and distracts from the beauty that is Mount Vernon. As much as I love Mount Vernon, and as many times as I have toured the house and grounds, I wish I had never seen that room that color. I have since seen it used as trim in some Chinese restaurants and it always brings back bad memories of seeing it at Mount Vernon. | See RoTi item |
| Re: RVing is good for the environment | Tanya | Mimi, there's more to being environmentally friendly than just how much it takes to fill your tank. Did you know that the majority of the electricity we use comes from fossil fuel? It's not just cars that are doing the damage, but our AC/Heating units. The entire planet would greatly benefit if everyone sold their obselete, monstrosity of a house and moved into an RV. Less space, less utility, AND Rvers are more likely to use solar or turbines. Why I don't see more turbines on RVs, I have no idea since driving down the road would charge those batteries in no time. | See RoTi item |
| Snowbird rental wanted | Christine | My husband and I are newly retired and want to join some friends that are snowbirding in Yuma. We would like to try this life style for a few weeks and want to rent a one or two bedroom park model??? | See RoTi item |
| Re: The top 10 reasons to go RVing | Ross P | Travel vacations are very different now from when I was a child. We didn't have any. The best difference is the ability of a family to rent or buy an RV and take everyone to different places, places they would never go if they had to stay in an hotel. Wonderful for the family and very educational for the kids. Renting to try it is a great way to start. | See RoTi item |
| Why do RV parks charge for dogs? | Andron | Why do some RV parks charge extra for a dog? Assuming that the owner cleans up after their pet, there are no appreciable maintenance costs to the park if you have a pet on a leash or inside your RV. | See RoTi item |
| RE: Stephen King House - Bangor Maine | Lucretia McEvil | We went to Maine on a much anticipated vacation. One of our highlights was to see Stephen Kings home in Bangor. I can't tell you how neat it was to see his place. A great moment for me would have been to see Mr. King himself... Maybe next time. | See RoTi item |
| Re:More snowbirds may become fulltimers | Jane A | We've been snowbirds in Florida for 4 years and I wouldn't want to do it fulltime. But if our finances worsen it's not a bad idea. | See RoTi item |
| Re:Snowbirds - Rockport-Fulton, Texas | Marie K | We love Texas and love the Rockport area. Great place to snowbird and definitely cheaper than Florida. | See RoTi item |
| RV parks becoming work camp communities | fred | Don't be fooled by the RV park rental numbers that the RVIA exec discussed. We've been full time RVing for 12 years and most of the parks we now visit are not being used by traditional RVers but are becoming work camp communities for regular working folks. And more than a few appear to be immigrant type workers from our neighbor nation to the far south. RVers need to be aware of this trend because I doubt if RV parks are checking for green cards. One such worker told me they were "retaking Texas" one RV park at a time.
Keep up the good work with your reporting and especially for the opportunity to comment on articles.

| Tell everyone about RVing | Joseph K | RV'ing goes back to the core values of the true America, remember the slogan in the 60’s “See the USA in your Chevrolet”. American wanted to see and enjoy this great land from coast to coast; and USA has a lot to offer us! Each of us RV’ers needs to tell none-RV’ers and especially the young adults; because, they are the future of RV’ing. About what it is like to be on a mini-vacation (Friday night, Saturday & Sunday) 60 to 100 miles from your home and with their family! RV’ing and The Family is the back-bone of America… So Speak-Up…. Speak-Up… to everyone you know, and RV’ing “will” get back on THE ROAD again | See RoTi item |
