1998 Thor Tahoe Transport LiteClintWe bought a 1998 transport lite, and we are the 3rd owners so obviously it has not satisfied previous owners much. After purchasing, we noticed that the top row of aluminum siding was starting to bubble due to corrosion from the inside out. If you draw a line across the roof between the two corrosion spots, it intersects with the skylight. Hmmm.... Yet there are no signs of water stains inside the unit, and it does not leak when it rains. I'd like to replace the defective sheets, but aluminum is fast becoming as obsolete as a slide rule. Plus the logistics of shipping 2 sheets that are 20 feet long and 6 inches wide are mind boggling. Until I figure out what to do, I plan on applying some marine type epoxy to the holes to prevent water from destroying the structural integrty of the trailer.
2004 Thor Tahoe ClaireWe have a 2004 Thor Tahoe and have had nothing but problems. The converter kept going out. The floor was soft up front, took it to the dealership and was told it was rotten under the floor. The warrenty was only good for a year, so we spent 5000.00 dollars to replace the floor and the dealership does not know how it happened. Then around the vents, it started leaking during a rainy day, took it to the dealership, had to get it resealed after we just spent 200.00 getting it resealed 6 mos prior and the dealership said, by the way your roof is bubbling and needs to be replaced by next year! Never again will we buy Thor. Thor was not helpful with all of our situations.
1998 Thor AeroliteAerolite GuyI have a 1998 Aerolite (built by Thor) that I have had to make extensive repairs to. The frame cracked under the very front on both sides. Water leaks in the shower made the floor soft and I had to build a new support structure under the trailer to support the floor. Insulation is a joke. The unit had numerous areas where no insulation was found allowing not only cold air to enter on a winter day but terrible dust. Numerous roof leaks ruined the sidewalls. The microwave oven crushed the material it was sitting on. I think the goons who build these at the factory are chimps who ran away from a zoo and could find no other employment. This is very sloppy workmanship. The QC at the factory is on permanent coffee break. How can they let garbage like this leave the factory?
1998 Thor Tahoe JDWe bought this unit new and have had nothing but problems since. It seems like we have a lemon and now we are totally screwed!!! I am not usually this opinionated but I will never buy a product from Thor again!!!!!!!! The hot water valve broke and it was difficult to fix. the screws in the shower came off, the tub surround cracked, the front power jacks had the incorrect gearing and broke 2 times, The cupboards needed to be replaced as they did not align. Most of this happened within the first few years and it was a pain getting them fixed as the dealerships were crazy busy and it was bring it in the fall. Then of course when it came time to do the warranty work we had to fight for it!!!!! The best one yet driving down the highway and part of the side of the trailer came peeling off. Thankfully no one was injured with this occurance. Now we have a fight on our hands to get this fixed!!!!!! It would have been better to have lino vs carpet going into the hall and bathroom in this model, The vents on the floor were difficult to clean When things usually go wrong it is usally the first trip of the year and dealership service departments are crazy busy and depending on the job to get an estimate takes a long time as well as a long wait to get it fixed. You figure you spend a great deal of money on something and the summer months are short You lose out on the preciuos holiday time you have. Based upon your experiences, would you buy one of this manufacturer's RVs again?: No. Rating: 0/5.
1992 Thor PinnacleArthur MI could not find parts for this RV. I tried talking to Thor but they acted like I was wasting their time. I don't think I would want another Thor product. Their service people seem like they could care less. I now own a Pace Arrow Vision and love it.
RE: 2004 Thor Four Winds Infinity 32' lisaWe have a Thor 5th wheel same thing - problems. I have owned 5 nice rvs, this is the only one with major problems.
Thor, Four Winds, Class C DinaI loved this RV from the very first day. Engine still runs as quiet as a church mouse. Perfect for weekend get aways! If I have to find something, I'd have to say that if you are planning extended RVing trips it gets cramped when there are more than three constant companions and one great dane. :) Slide allows for a little extra room. Re-caulked the entire RV in 2006, but it didn't really need it. More of a precautionary thing. With regular maintenance this RV is a gem. Based upon your experiences, would you buy one of this manufacturer's RVs again?: Yes. Rating: 5/5.
