RVing Questions: Motorhome seatbelts?

I have two questions. The first is regarding the use of
seatbelts in motorhomes. What is the law? Do all
occupants need to wear seatbelts at all times, or are only those
in the two captains chairs required to wear a seatbelt? The
second is question is regarding towed RVs (fifth-wheels and
bumper hitches). Are you allowed to have occupants in
the RV while it is being towed?
ANSWER:
I will answer your second question first. You are not allowed to
have passengers in any towed vehicle or trailer. Fifth-wheels
and RV trailers are both separate units towed by another
vehicle, therefore, it is not legal for a passenger to ride in
them. The back of a motorhome is not a towed unit therefore it
is legal to ride in the back. Regarding the use of seatbelts in
a motorhome, only the driver and passenger are required to use
seatbelts unless seatbelts are supplied at the back from the
manufacturer, then they must be used. It is illegal to remove
seatbelts in any vehicle for the purpose of avoiding their use.

Hensley says: "Check your hitch struts"

"Hensley Hitch Owners and future owners":
The biggest problem any of you will ever encounter is a bent
strut bar. About ten customers call each year with a bent
strut. Not a huge number, but it’s the one problem that will
stop you in your tracks. And it’s unnecessary. A simple
check before each hookup will ensure you won’t wind up stranded
in a campground waiting on a part to be shipped to you.
Before each hookup, simply reach down and grab the strut bars.
Give them a shake. If they’re firm, you’re good to go.
If they rattle when you shake them, use the built in wrench to
tighten one or both (they should be fairly even). Simply lift
the locking handle, turn clockwise (as you face the trailer)
until snug. Give it one more half turn and you’re all set.

"RV Capital of the World" - Elkhart IN - holds 55th Midwest RV Super

The "RV Capital of the
World" Elkhart Indiana held the 55th Midwest RV Super Show over
the weekend ending 15th August 2010. Things have certainly
improved since last year, when the show — held in northern
Indiana for 54 straight years — was canceled because people
weren't buying RVs. This year, the RVIA reports that through the
first six months of this year, sales are up more than 87 percent
over 2009.
According to AP, "Mark Bowersox, executive director of the
Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council and director of the super
show, says RV sales are a reflection of consumer confidence. He
says people are buying RVs again because they are feeling better
about the economy." WSJV-TV, Elkhart-South Bend commented today
that Mark Bowersox, the show's director said "The fact that
we've had serious potential buyers out here this week, that's a
real good sign for the industry as well as the national
economy."
WSJV goes on to say: "Sizzling temperatures this weekend
couldn't keep buyers away from checking out the latest in new
RV's. The heat was also on for vendors like who took note of
both the steady attendance and shoppers ready to spend money on
the newest products.
'There were definitely more [people] than I expected and a lot
more serious lookers than I expected,' says Joanna Miller, an RV
dealer at the event.
By the end of the three-day show, sold signs could be seen on
many of the vehicles, leading customers like Mike Wheeler to
believe that the economy is heading in the right direction.
'I saw a lot of sold signs on a lot of these campers so maybe
that's a good sign, and we're hoping that it picks up,' says
Wheeler."

I am probably looking to head out within the next 6 months or so depending on of course how well we can get to know eachother first. I would like to meet a nice woman who would like to be my travel companion/life partner who is between 40 and 55 yrs old that would like to share in this beautiful life experience with, who has a passion for the outdoors and the RVing lifestyle like i do. Now the age is not a requirement at all but rather a baseline to go off of. Now as for myself, i am a 5'8" 205 lbs 48 yr old very attractive man to most from what i have been told, who currently lives on the west coast in the greater Bakersfield California area.
