NuWa says that for 2009 it "has positioned its Discover America product to meet the need for a large, truly “high end” 5th wheel that can be towed by one ton vehicles.  The Discover America models are not “wide body” (as is the NuWa Champagne,) but the multiple glides increase square footage without greatly increasing length or weight. Thus there are many choices of length and design available from the most experienced and one of the most respected 5th wheel manufacturers."

RoTi thinks the Hitchhiker Discover America is a beautiful fifth wheel as you can see from the pictures below:

NuWa say they're using “space age” material as standard with the addition of Radiant Technology “reflective” insulation in roofs, floors (also glide rooms), under end caps and under the bedroom floor that will "noticeably help keep the RV comfortable in any climate."

 Interior:

We think the NuWa Discover America's interiors are beautiful too; this is the 34LKTG model interior:

 Floor plans:

According to our calculations, there are 7 floorplans available for 2009. We show 2 of these here. All have exterior widths of 100" and exterior heights of about 12'9". Lengths range from 34'7" to 39'2".

The first we show is the 34 LKTG (the picture above shows the interior of this model.)  This model is 35'10" exterior length.  The MSRP is given by NuWa as $88,800. (October 2008.)

The next we show is the 37 CKRD with a length of 37'6" and an MSRP price tag of $96,150.  This is a completely different arrangement from the model above and shows the versatility of the NuWa arrangements:

Some of the features of the Discover America:
  • Oak finish or cherry finish cabinetry
  • Choice of 5 decors
  • Queen bed or king bed option (most models)
  • Wide range of standard and optional features

montana full timerI am spending my 2nd winter in SE Montana in my Discover 5th wheel and it has been very cozy even at an official 30 below with a non-functioning furnace {I had portable heaters in strategic spots}. I do have it skirted and I put plastic on the windows but it is more comfortable than the old house I lived in for 40 years and I absolutely love it. It is a perfect home for me.
KaronWe love NuWa! We now own our second one. Nice details that you don't find in other units.
TerriI always marvel at how livable a fifth wheel is compared to a coach. They look homey and comfortable. This model gives the options of a king sized bed as well as two recliners in the living room.
Maureen KWe had been full timing for four years when we decided we wanted a new 5th wheel we did a lot of research and chose the Hitchhiker Discover America. The thing I like about NuWa is that they particularly look after fulltimers. Every problem we've had (not many) has been taken care of without any delay or hastle. Recommend this brand and hope we'll use ours for many many more years.
Pam HerschWe bought a NuWa after looking for 2 years and have never regretted it. We're fulltimers. Our only problem was a leaking slide which was easily fixed. Based upon your experiences, would you buy one of this manufacturer's RVs again?: Yes. Rating: 5/5.
