"Introducing the industry's most fuel-efficient, clean diesel Class A motorhome"

New for 2009
The initial Avanti model "up to 70 percent better fuel economy
than comparable Class A motorhomes"
Starting at $144,060

2009 Damon Avanti exterior

The initial Avanti model is 31 ½ feet long and designed to be a more fuel efficient and easier-to-drive Class A motor home. Combining a sleek, low-to-the-ground, aerodynamic design with the re-engineered Workhorse chassis, the Avanti is expected to achieve up to 70 percent better fuel economy than comparable Class A motor homes, based on internal test results..

2009 Damon Avanti interior

Damon say the Avanti is special because:

  • Avanti’s European-inspired, aerodynamic design gives it an automotive feel behind the wheel

  • Initial independent testing showed Avanti is 70% more fuel efficient than any other Class-A diesel

  • This is a highly-livable coach with gorgeous, yachtlike styling. Notice unique drop-down bed system (shown above)

  • Avanti is contemporary thanks to curved cabinetry, elegant fabrics and SMEV (Italian) appliances

The Damon Vice President of Avanti Sales Matt Thompson describes the Avanti’s drivability as “awesome.” The Avanti’s coach is nearly 12 inches closer to the ground than any other Class A motor home and is six inches narrower. The low center of gravity, combined with the excellent ride and handling of the Workhorse chassis, gives it “an automotive feel,” said Thompson. “I think people will find it fun to drive. Certainly not like any other Class A.”

The Avanti is the first motor home to be built on the Workhorse W16D front-engine diesel platform.

Workhose says: The W16D also marks the first appearance of the MaxxForce™ 5 V6 diesel engine in a motor home. The MaxxForce 5 is mated to an Allison 1000 Series transmission and produces 200 horsepower and 440 ft.-lbs. of torque. Other key W16D features that enhance the drivability and manageability of the motor home include high-performance Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes, 50-degree wheel cut and electronic instrument cluster with full instrumentation and information center.

Leading edge technology makes the MaxxForce 5 a “clean diesel” engine that improves both emission levels and fuel efficiency. That and the relatively light weight of the Workhorse chassis both contribute to the Avanti’s fuel economy and payload capacity.

Grandguy never owned but like the coach chasi and engine. Interior design needs more options before it's my 1st choice.
Ron CarterDon't believe what salesmen tell you, the Avanti is certainly no more noisy than any other motorhome in my experience. This is our third and our best. The Avanti is in a class of its own in my opinion.
old travelerI like what I see, but would like to hear from someone who actually owns one. I had a salesman tell me the engine is noisy.
KP I have heard that they are noisy and sluggish due to the front mounted motor. Our test drive seemed that way as well Anyone have any experience
RV.'er guyActual test fuel mileage was approx 14.3 mpg @ 55 MPH
MarkNever considered a Class A; my wife hates the idea - until she walked into the Damon Avanti. She's absolutely bonkers over it. We're seriously considering...
DonI love the Avanti. I had a Country Coach and told them several years ago they should make an upscale smaller coach. They didn't listen.
DebraI love this motorhome layout. I saw it in Pennsylvania and have been trying to convince my husband that this is for us. He likes it too but says we have to wait until we retire. That'll be at least ten years but maybe I can work him round.
Ken HullI'd like to see some actual fuel figures and test results. 70% improvement in fuel consumption seems difficult to believe.
Lou MRecommend Damon. We've had our Damon Tuscany 4055 for a month and find it fantastic! 2nd pusher we've owned & definitely the best! Great layout too. Damon customer service seems good to this point.
connieThe Damon is for me. If I can find a reasonable trade for my 2005 Pace Arrow 37C I'll go for it. I think manufacturers are listening to what we want. Thanks RoTi.
