| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | Ken R. | I just purchased a new 32 BHDS and drop it home 200 miles in a rain storm. no leaks at all. I researched multiple other TT's before settling on this model. for the $$ no other camper can match the quality and features... I bought this camper as a upgrade, tons of room, storage and features that as a family of 4+2 dogs will need. for example. the seating around the kitchen table expands for 2 additional persons, the bathroom is huge and even though it might seem minor the toilet is a real porcelen item not the flimsy plastic units. the windows come factory tinted and you also get real pleated shades not the cheap blinds. the cabinets are all solid wood with good high quality hinges. same with the drawers. I especially like all the bypass valves in the plumbing that allow you to completely manage the H20 system and winterize the entire unti very easily. I go the upgraded entertainment system and already love the set-up. the plat panel TV is a RCA not a no name TV, everything including the antena are digital. and the stereo has so many options such as inside/outside audio, surround sound for the TV, DVD built in and a large display with a clock and Alarm if needed. the fridge, stove and AC are all industry standard and proven to work when maintained....with the exception of the fridge which has a secondary slide out lock mechanism that allows you to prop th door open when not in use.Onedownside that I was aware of before purchasing was the grey water tank drain out...it is not located in a good spot....under the living room slideout which makes it difficult to access. I will try to post updates good or bad as we use the camper. |
| Re: Jayco Melbourne class C motorhome | MarkintheGardens | We have owned a 2010 Melbourne 29D for a little over a year.
First, to jaybird, I think the 38'-8" is a typo. Our 29D is their largest model and I'm pretty sure it's about 31'-8". As far as handling, I think it handles very well. This is our first motorhome as owners, although we have rented a few times. It does react to cross winds and passing semis (don't they all?) We tow a Jeep Wrangler and even with our inexperience we have done well.
As far as the actual coach, we bought this one from a local dealership that had it listed on consignment with 8,300 mi. We really liked the layout. Three slides makes it appear much more roomy. It's been perfect for the two of us and our two puppies.
However, it seems that we have had more than our share of trouble (AC fan went out, Water heater died). Some of it has been covered by the maker of each component, others have been under our after-market extended warranty.
Forget getting ANY help from JAYCO as a second owner. After several months, we noticed the floor in the galley felt "soft". It was discovered that the water system control valve connections were dripping. Apparently they had been dripping for a really long time and probably had not been properly tightened at the factory. JAYCO refused to do anything about the repair. With that kind of QC and zero support, I would not recommend them. |
| Re: Jayco Pinnacle fifth wheel | ChArlotte of Edm. AB Canada | Owned a 2011 pinnacle fifth wheel. We started with a 2007 27BHDS then upgrade to a 2009 31BHDS. Last year we bought the Pinnacle (children rarely come with us now) and I love my 36 REQS pinnacle!!!!
An avid jayco fan!!!! BRAVO!!!! |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Bungalow destination trailer | Tom | Does anyone else have a mould problem with their Jayco trailer? |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Bungalow destination trailer | Tom | I bought a Jayco Bungalow 2 years ago. Maybe I got a lemon.. but its crap. None of the slides fit right and the service guy couldn't fix them. Shower doors leaked like a sieve they siliconed them then the bottom broke out of the garden tub. Windows doors ceiling walls all sweat real bad even with a dehumidifier black mould growing in trailer. Jayco's approved repair was to drill two or three holes in through the window frames on all windows, looks like crap. Roof/ceiling dropped around A/C unit. Apparently two roof trusses were broke, the unit has been parked since we got it how did that happen? After being "fixed" by the dealer looks worse than before, by the water stains on the stove and counter I'd say it now leaks. I would not recommend a Jayco product and don't know how to go about getting satisfaction from dealer or Jayco. I've got a 22 month old $50'000 trailer that will have no resale value, due to poor quality workmanship by Jayco and on part by the servicing dealer. We run a campground and have never talked to anyone who has had the issues we've had and gotten no satisfaction. |

| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | Kris | We bought a 2011 Jayflight G2 32BHDS after countless hours of searching for a quality trailor. I thought that I had found it. WRONG. My outside kitchen leaked, my windows all condensate and the walls condensate to the point that I have a terrible MOLD issue. I am talking GREEN MOLD EVERYWHERE. My carpet, cushions, cupboards, clothing ...everything molded. Jayco is NOT backing their product. I am furious!! I didn't spend $30,000 to camp in MOLD!!! I have had nothing but trouble getting them to listen!! It is under warranty but they will not cover it says my salesman at RCD Sales in Ohio. I don't understand why the company wont cover this issue !!! POOR POOR Customer Service. |
| Re:Jayco Baja Camping Trailer | Kirk | We have an '09 Baja and love it. Off the beaten path doesn't really begin to describe where we pull it. There's a few things that I would change after using this for 3 season.
1. Winterizing instructions for the hot water tank are not clear about proper draining. I thought I had missed something and was an idiot, but I talked to another guy with a 28' Jayco and he did the exact same thing his first year too and it resulted in the same ruptured tank. So basically that's a $500.00 problem.
2. In hard rain water will push past the front seal for the cap-to-body area and things get a little moist so we've fabricated a vinyl bra for that seem to prevent the rain from driving in while in transit.
3. The roof vent unexpectedly started leaking for no apparent reason so we've had to re-seal it.
4. They should've at least painted the bare wood or used treated because we've had to wash mould out from the underside of the cap with mild bleach solution pretty much after each winter.
5. Although the dry box is a great idea it's in a ridiculous spot on the deck. To haul an atv the drybox must be removed.
6. An atv on the deck actually doesn't quite fit with the ramps on. You can make it work because the tires run low pressure so they'll squeeze in. It's the same for dirtbikes unless you angle them slightly, but you can't angle them if there's 3.
7. The water tank is a little small, but we just bring two 5 gallon drinking water jugs and use the onboard for coffee and dishes and we're good for 3-5 days of dry camping depending on how conservative we are.
Despite these things we LOVE the trailer. Leaf sprung axle with shocks, 2000 lbs plus carrying capacity, a light tongue weight, trailer brakes, good ground clearance, and a king size bed! It tows awesome and when it's fully loaded, my diesel has no idea it's even there. We even avoided a sudden rush hour traffic halt in Seattle from 50mph to pretty much zero. |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | Don | I looked at a 2011 Skylark and the face of the counter was sperated from the top. I purchsaed a 2012 and before I took possession that counter top also had the same problem. of two I saw both had the identical issue so I am wondering if someone else is having the same issue. I think it is a manufacturing problem.
Thank you |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | Quality RV INC | Steve, we are very sorry to hear that you are having problems. We always take care of our customers. If you are still having issues with your Jayco, please contact us and we will do everything we can to help you out. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather EXP travel trailer | Robert | We bought the Jay Feather 23 B, from day one the water connections leaked under the kitchen sink, when you flush the toilet, the connection shoots water all over the floor, drawers have broken because the support are not well designed nor supported, the Dealer has closed shop, and can get no help finding how to solve problems with the trailer. |
| Re: Jayco Slylark travel trailer | future RV buyer | The Skylark 21 front kitchen: Cooktop and sink are both too small and close together. Where are dishes placed to drain after washing? (there is enough room for a double sink). |
| Re: Jayco Jay Series camping trailer | Charlie | Thinking about buying a 1996 Jay Series Jayco Tent Trailer. WHERE IS THE BATTERY? I can't see a hook-up anywhere? |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Bungalow destination trailer | ........ | This trailer looks ideal for my family. I'm wondering though if the dining table comes in a formation that can be turned into a bed. Also I would like to see a picture of the bathroom area and the back bedroom area. Thanks |
| Re: Jayco Greyhawk class C motorhome | Rick | We bought our first new in December of 2009. It was a 28' class C Jayco Greyhawk. The overall appearance and the layout is great.Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The quality and the craftsmanship is terrible. They have put this thing together with the cheapest components that money can buy. I know that my next motor home WILL NOT be a Jayco!!! |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | Alison | We have only had our Jayco since the end of February. Brand new 2011 when we bought it. Since we have had it, we had a leak from behind the stove due to cracked tubing from where the fresh water is put in, our outside kitchen area was leaking with every rain and after numerous attempts at caulking, we think it has finally stopped only if we don't have it open when it is raining. And now, after only having it in our possession for 3 months because for 4 weeks now, it has been sitting at the dealership waiting to be worked on, the brakes need adjusted apparently and the dealership says it isn't under warranty and it is a "maintenance" issues and our $. Not to mention that the salesman that was so accommodating before we bought it won't even return our calls, and we found out the company has never put the warranty in our name. Found that out after calling Jayco directly to file a complaint. Not to mention that my husband had to leave work to go to the dealership and PROVE it was the camper and not the truck due to inexperienced staff. I can't believe after all the hype that this is what we are experiencing! |
| Re: Jayco Pinnacle fifth wheel | Pam Rose | We have a 2011 JAYCO 36REQS Pinnacle. Never regretted buying it. Can only recommend Jayco. |
| Re: Jayco Eagle fifth wheel | Peg1944 | Like fifth wheels, like Jayco in general (we've had 2 of their RVs, both good) and the Eagle in particular. Our floorplan is real nice love the main living area and the bedroom. This RV is better than our home. |
| Re: Jayco Pinnacle fifth wheel | buzzz | This is cool but I've never had a 5th wheel they look really difficult to tow and travel with. All my experience is with travel trailers, is there really a difference in handling and towing? |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | Kim | We recently purchased our Skylark and drove from BC down the Oregon Coast. We love it, although we are very conscientous of what we put in it, which is actually a good thing as I brought to much in the past. The only comment is where to put a bike rack and what type. We have decided to secure them in the rail in our Nissan Frontier. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | Steve Howard | I bought a new Jayco Swift in March of 2011. I have never pulled it anywhere except home from the dealer in Linn Creek Missouri. It leaked rain water all the way home from the front panels. Tony told me they forgot to caulk the seams inbetween the aluminum panels at the factory. Gimmie a break. These people could be the poster child for POOR customer service after the sale. I am still fighting with them. |
| Re: Jayco Greyhawk class C motorhome | Jon P | This is classy. Looks more like a class A inside. Jayco are a cool company and make a cool product. |
| Re: Jayco Greyhawk class C motorhome | Andy | Beautiful. I've good experience with Jayco. I had a Jayco Flight travel trailer for years. Going to look at this. |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | ian nadler | We just purchased a 2011 Skylark.Interior space and floor plan are excellent. Really impressed by upper and lower storage. I am considering selling because it only has a single axle. Trade in value in my area is really low. I am afraid that c load tires might not be enough to carry this trailer safely. I really would appreciate all comment. As a plus, this is an absolute dream to tow. |
| Re: Jayco Eagle travel trailer | Paul Barnes | There is another version of the eagle the superlite - but the models shown here are much better in my opinion (I sell them both) |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | Dane Goodwin | Kevin, I am at the factory and willspeak to someone about your issue with the Jay Flight. This is unusual for Jayco. Phone 870-334-2189. Dane - 3/21/2011 |
| Re: Jayco Slylark travel trailer | Darrah | For those of you who have a Jayco Skylark, what are you towing it with? |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Swift SLX travel trailer | Ross H | I've had 2 jaycos both good. Like something smaller and simpler. this looks good. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Swift SLX travel trailer | nospam | is the Swift SLX wood or ALU framed? I see it has a wall AC like the KZ. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Swift SLX travel trailer | Bill Bo | Unbelievable price - I've gotta see one! |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather travel trailer | Armando and Meli | We have a 2007 30R Jay Feather. Great Trailer. We had a few problems that were covered under warranty during the first two years. We love the floor plan with the bunk beds in the back. We will not get rid of it until we decide to move into a Jayco motorhome for camping. Jayco makes good products. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather travel trailer | wayne | with all this snow should I be concerned about the weight on the roof?My 199 Jay feather has a cover - 1/30/2011 |
| Re: Jayco Slylark travel trailer | Claire | Love this trailer. So easy to tow. We're spending the winter in Arizona so we're living in it full time at the moment. Small but no problems. |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | Rita R. | I pulled the Skylark from Minneapolis to Ft. Myers with my 2010 Audi Q5. I had an anti-sway/equalizer hitch installed and the trip was effortless. Mpg was around 12-13 miles. I love the trailer, especially the European interior design. However, the material of which the wood-like cabinets are made is flimsy and hardly hold the screws. I had to fix several of them. I wish there were a shade or something over the door for privacy. I love the kitchen! |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather Sport | mary | Lynne - are thinking of selling the 2007 soon and where are you located and how much? |
| Re: Jayco Slylark travel trailer | Carl | Love this trailer the interior is really beautiful, thinking about buying one. We had a Forest River V-Cross and the V front really does help towing. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather Sport | susanj | We have had a Jay Feather 199 for 2 years. It is the ideal small trailer. We travel with 2 adults and 2 dogs, and never feel too crowded. The small slide makes the floor space useable. It has a queen bed and a sofa with table - no dinette - but this doesn't cause any problems. The trailer itself appears to be exceptionally sturdy. We'd recommend it without reservation - 11/14/2010 |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather Sport | Lynne | We bought our Jayfeather Sport 165 new in 2007 and it's been great. It's so easy to tow with our Toyota Tundra that you hardly even notice you're towing anything. We're about to put it up for sale as we're going to purchase a motor home - but this has all the bells and whistles & is a great little trailer! |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight travel trailer | george thompson | Bought a new 2009 jayflight G2 25 ft travel trailer, love the floor plan,we have used it twice and on both occasions the water tank would siphon out while driving to our camp site(water tank empty) the company says I should install valves on the overflow pipes,it seems to me that type of defect should be the companies obligation, would appreciate feed back on this problem. thanks |
| Re: Jayco Seneca class C motorhome | JAMES BROWN | Very nice. I have a class c and we really enjoy it |
| Re: Jayco Embark class C diesel motorhome | Ginette & mike | Why we don't have some RV Seller who have some EMBARK RV for sale in Canada , because I would like to buy one but there's no RV dealer who have one? |
| Re: Jayco Eagle fifth wheel | Steve | I have a 2010 fifth wheel. We had a few issues with the slides. They would not open for a few days. They were in sleep mode. Called the factory and they advised what to do. I thought this problem was going to tie up our vacation but it was minor. Just tap the switches for the slide out and it works. No repair. Everything is excellent and we love it. This is the first Jayco that we owned. Use moth balls to avoid mice and wall sensor. |
| Re: Jayco Seneca class C motorhome | Fergusons | We love our Seneca, the few problems we have had, they have been very good at taking care of for us. Jayco seems to be a very good company that stands behind their products. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather Sport | Reno | we bought a 2007 jay feather 197 from a private owner, it's hardly been used, perfect size for my family of 5, and all the goodies, air, heat, microwave, stove, fridge, hot h2o and shower..... what more would you want, I tow it with a Mitsubishi Outlander with no problems. Excellent craftsmanship, nice finish and detail |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | bll | Very nice, great styling. This should be an excellent trailer. I need just a little more room for 3 people. They was a piece of plywood under a cushion that was not cut to the right size that could cut a persons leg. I was very impressed with the overall package this unit offers. Make it a 24-26' with tandom wheels and you have a customer. |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | SJL | Has anyone kicked the tires on one of these babies? The Skylark looks really cool and towable by my Honda Pilot but I can't seem to find them within 200 miles of Sacramento or Reno |
| Re: Jayco Jay Feather EXP travel trailer | Nightwings | We have enjoyed our 232 5th wheel for nearly four years and a 17C EX-Port, which we just upgraded to the EXP 213. I'm wondering if there have been any problems with the bed slide outs? We got our new one home and the slide would stop about a foot from the full-out position. The mechanics worked on it for over an hour and may have found a problem with a weld in the geared rail that runs out the slide. The slide does go out a long way with quite a bit of weight on the connections with the rig. |
| Re: 2011 Jayco Skylark travel trailer | Doug | I would be happier if this trailer had two axels and
four tires to increase safety in the event of a blow out. |
| Re: Jayco Jay Flight Bungalow destination trailer | duce | oh how i would love to have one of these, very beautiful. |
|
