Earthbound says:  "The RV industry is well over due for change, and the industry pioneers behind Earthbound RV have been diligently working on alternative materials, designs and construction methods, that we believe, will initiate that change."  Since RoamingTimes.com named Earthbound as the 2010 Green RV of the Year award they've gone on to make the product a big success.  C. David Hoefer (Sr.), Earthbound RV’s co-founder, chairman and CEO said (9/10) "We've actually got probably 40 dealers already" (- see the video below.)  Congratulations Earthbound!

Earthbound says: "Earthbound’s sleek automotive styling isn’t just for good looks! The innovative design team behind Earthbound started from the ground up, searching out alternative materials and construction methods to reinvent a new standard for RV design."

A Roaming Times' reader says:
"I just love this Earthbound Trailer! It is about time that someone built an RV like they build boats and aircraft interiors! Most RV have become works of junk, rather than works of art. I think Earthbound as hit the nail on the head with this one!" akasurf

The original concept:  "The Earthbound travel trailer will revolutionize the towable RV industry with innovations never before seen in RVs.  Earthbound RV will utilize lighter, recyclable, low volatile organic compound construction materials in an easily towed, family friendly RV, with an original, aerodynamic, automotive inspired design."

The product - now in dealers:  An exterior picture of the 2011 Earthbound Golden Ridge (see floorplans below)  - from George M. Sutton RV, OR -  who says: "We're proud to represent the industry's BEST products!"

Just some of the construction and exterior standards: Eco Friendly, Recyclable Skins And Framing, Utilizing Family Friendly, Composite Construction Materials, All Aluminum Framed, Vacuum Bonded Construction (Walls, Floor, Roof And Interior Walls), Composite, Seamless Roof And Floors (Interior And Exterior), Crowned 5” Roof With "Wrap Over Wall" Radius Roof Edge, Seamless Sidewalls With Aluminum/Automotive Clear Coat Finish, Durable, Lightweight Thermal Pane Windows With Lift And Click Stays, One-Piece, Seamless, Structural Composite Roof, Huge Exterior Pass-Through Storage (Composite) With Compression Latches On Doors, One-Piece Fiberglass Gel Coat Front And Rear Caps W/Aluminum Inserts, Dura-Chip-Shield Front Cap Protector, Aluminum Alloy Wheels, Earthbound Exclusive Wide-Stance X-Track Axle Stability System™

The next 2 pictures below show the interior of the Earthbound Dillon model (see floorplans below.)  Roaming Times thinks this really is a well thought out  and beautiful floorplan with many innovative features.  Many of our readers have told us about their problems with formaldehyde in a new RV; it really is good to see the use of low volatile organic compound construction materials in the Earthbound.

With regards to quality, Earthbound says: "Most U.S. consumers are plagued by low final assembly quality and poor material content from RV manufacturer’s old school of design and basic construction methods, which in turn, has impacted the consumers overall view of the RV industry’s quality standards and impacted the Customer Satisfaction Index.  By utilizing state of the art equipment, space-age materials, full pre-delivery inspections and a production management team that features a vested ownership in the company, a new standard of quality will evolve at Earthbound RV."  Impressive.  And beautiful too:

Just a couple of final points from Earthbound:

  • Earthbound RV's construction is backed up by a groundbreaking, 3-year, limited, bumper-to-hitch warranty
  • A name you can trust. Earthbound RV is truly the "original innovator" to the RV industry. Although Earthbound RV is a new name to most, the icons at the helm of Earthbound have brought you industry changing names like Dutchmen, Hart Housing, Fourwinds and Pilgrim International.

Herb This beautiful lightweight ECO-friendly and luxuries Travel Trailer changed my mind once my wife and I retire to use as a full time travel companion rather then a Class A. The only small problem, it's tough to find a dealer with more then one unit in stock and that is willing to give a reasonable trade allowance for our newer other make TT. I guess, payoffs are somewhat a inconvenience and they hate hearing that! Well, not everybody is wealthy!
CarlaDeeRecently purchased a new Airstream, but gave the Earthbound a good look. Went with the Airstream because of the name, long-time reputation, and alunimum construction. I really liked the Earthbound design and interior finish, though. It was a close call. If Earthbound had been longer established, I may have gone with them. Some RVs have really bad reputations. If Earthbound's reputation holds well, I think they will give Airstream a run for the money.
judy bowlingi love it wish i could afford this camper!! - 2/15/2011
GreenotterWow! Just the interior photos of this nearly knocked me off my chair. After reading about the innovations in materials, I wish someone would put this much thought into a Park Model or even a small manufactured home, making one that is durable, this beautiful inside, and with at least R30 in the walls, and R40 in the ceiling.
ALI have 04' Alumascape 32SKD. We have been across the US several times with her (just like boats there are female). It is a great trailer, well built and great customer service. The dealer in my local area is also very good. One thing I don't like about the new ones, is that they guite making the .40 Aluminum siding. I don't really like fiberglass. The aluminum is so much easier to maintain. My rig looks like new with little to no effort, it wouldn't be that way if it were fiberglass.
ALI Love the interior! The outside is so modern that I am sure that someone with big ego will love the attention they will get at the campgrounds. My wife says that it reminds her of a business jet...I guess it does when I think of it. I think I would love towing it with Range Rover or Cayenne..how cool would that be! It is a little pricy, but not as bad as the Airstream, and much cooler looking!
ScottI sell for ExploreUSA in Texas. I got into the RV business becaue I love the RV business. But I quickly saw that many of the units that were out there were all the same and not built that well. I really want to see this RV in person....wow what a cool space to have fun in. WE NEED THIS TYPE OF UNIT. WEIGHT is the killer for the average person and this is JUST the ticket to keep you from having to buy a new truck. Does this thing really look this good inside.....if so...look out Airstream...there is a new kid on the block. :)
Gene HI'd like to see one. I fulltime and stay in RV parks but i've never seen one in a park. Really like to look inside one.
Marie PFabulous and what the evnironment needs and I'd like. Just my opinion. Marie P
SkipJToo glitzy. Just my opinion. SkipJ
puttinNice job Earthbound....let's see if the big guys will follow suit.
PamelaSaw this at the Hershey show and I agree it was a hit. One day when we get the money.
Jen HSimple and simply beautiful. I have an airstream but this is great. will look at it. Thanks
ShirleyI like the look and feel of the RV, but I now pull a 21 ft., 1998 Nash fifth wheel and love it! It fits 2 people and a dog. If you made a small 5th wheel - we would DEFINITELY be interested in your product -- Thanks for trying to make an environmentally friendly RV.
GarhamIt's about time. I'm in the market for the first time and I all I see is overweight junk with Cougars airbrushed on the side of it. Ok, slight exaggeration, but you have to admit, the RV industry is not innovating very fast. This is a nice addition. I hope they make something just a little bit smaller.
Fuzzy9Earthbound appears to be filling a giant gap in the towable market -- one of quality. Although the "green" factors are nice angle, I don't think that's their biggest selling point. (Those who want to camp "green" buy a tent.) Most travel trailer buyers today are stuck choosing from a huge variety of mediocre-quality towables that end up being amazingly similar in both look and price, because manufacturers think it's only about offering a low pricepoint -- hence the silly industry practice of offering equipment as "optional" that should be "standard" on most trailers. It's not just about price. Earthbound appears to have cut few corners here, has boldly introduced an entirely new head-turning appearance that will be the talk of every campground, and will surely be priced accordingly. (My guess is somewhere in the current abyss between the Airstream brand and everything else out there.) I, like many others, am willing to pay for quality. Earthbound will likely be my next trailer purchase when I finally give up on constantly repairing my present 2004 travel trailer due to its poor build quality and cheap materials -- likely by next year.
akasurfI just love this Earthbound Trailer! It is about time that someone built an RV like they build boats and aircraft interiors! Most RV have become works of junk, rather than works of art. I think Earthbound as hit the nail on the head with this one!
CarrieI like the idea of an RV that's looked at environmental factors. My concern is the formaldehyde and chemical odors in RV's. Everybody knows they make people sick and we've known for a long time that there are materials that can be substituted, but maybe they cost more. It looks as if manufacturers are starting to take notice.
