Jessica LWe bought a brand new Rockwood in 2008. As soon as we pulled off the lot the mechanic had to come out and replace a breaker. The electric part of the hot water tank doesn't work. The wallpaper is bubbled up and peeling. Only half of the electric outlets work. Then the water leaked. Then the roof leaked. Replaced both acels twice. Which left us stranded twice. The lines leaked and ruined our whole floor. Of course they do not want to fix anything due to it not being covered under warranty anymore. I am sorry but when you pay $32000 for a brand new rv u expect not to have major issues with it. This thing is a nightmare and I would never recommend buying anything made by Forest River. Rockwoods are junk!!!! I should of just lit $32000 dollars on fire because this thing is not worth anything.Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
Funk Thinking about a New 2011 Forest River Berkshire Bunk House RV (39BH) W/4 Slides, Model 390QS: Once deal was settled, What price range was it in? ThanksRe: Forest River Berkshire luxury motorcoach
Hating GeorgetownMy father has always wanted a Class A RV after having many travel trailers. My father purchased a 2011 Georgetown GTA350. The first month it was back at the dealership twice for things not finished. After a month of waiting on the dealer to finish the repairs it was returned with more problems. Every time they travel now, my sister and I have to be ready to come to them. Electrical problems, leveler problems, heat/air problems...you name it, they've had it. The dealership is good about attempting to fix the problems, but just last week while it was back for another problem, an employee rubbed a 5th wheel down the side of it. The factory has been no help whatsoever about fixing the issues. A convection oven issue took calls to the manufacturer from my father to get replacement parts that had to be installed by the dealership. Don't buy these motorhomes please! Cardinal is made by them also and they have problems galore from what the dealer has told us. Even the dealer regrets taking this company as a product. Re: Forest River Georgetown class A motorhome
Sad SackBought this trailer new in 2010. So far it's been a big disappointment. Both pop outs were blowing fuses. Fixed finally by the dealer. The front landing legs blew fuses. Fixed by the dealer. The large pop out drive mechanism clutch failed on a trip, fortunately in the "in" position. The unit sat at the dealers for a month until it was repaired. (Non warranty) The lights above the main sleeping area dropped out of the ceiling. The overhead storage cupboards over the sink area pulled away from the wall mounts and dropped approximately three quarters of an inch. Owner added bracing between counter and cupboard bottoms. The propane gas fired oven would not stay lit. Dealer sort of repaired same. The propane gas regulator failed to support more than one burner at a time. Owner replaced and adjusted same. The main escape window in the master bedroom shook free during a trip and was lost on the highway somewhere in Northern Ontario. Owner ordered a replacement and installed it with modifications to prevent this from happening again. I think by now you must be seeing the obvious. Forest River have no quality assurance programs in place. It's obvious to me that the "farm kids" assembling these trailers are ill equipped for the job. This is my first and last Forest River RV. On the up side, this one is probably the best one of the lot as it has been pretty well gone over and debugged now. Now that I'm retired I may apply to Forest River for a consulting job. Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
jimbought a 2011 lacrosse luxuty light by prime time, there are so many problems i can't list them all. their design engineer should be fired or at least sent to school somewhere. shame such a beautiful camper is so flawedRe: Forest River Prime Time LaCrosse travel trailer
NickI bought a 2012 Forest River 2304 and have nothing but problems. The a/c freezes up and then when it thaws it leaks all over the TV the dinette cushions and most likely there is water in the walls, the shower leaks, the trim is on backwards and when we tried to have Driftwood the dealer fix it they told us nothing was wrong. I would NEVER buy a Forest River again...EVER!!!Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
PeterI own a rockwood ultra light 2009 roof leaks out of warranty of course its probably been leaking since I bought it I've owned other trailers never had problems likes this real pour quality it's will cost any were from 2.000 to 3.000 to repair thanksl a lot forest river Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
Begone2Hi, I purchased a used 2008 374 Georgetown and wonder if anyone has the Battery Control Panel wiring schimatics. The panel outfit was sold by RV Custom Products who are no longer in business. The document under the retracting entrance step is pretty much gone. I have a brown wire hanging and with 2 new side batteries and new coach battery not holding a charge. Open circut somewhere?? Step will not stay retracted when parked. I took specs from Lippert it was some help. Also green wire to chasis is hooked up t battery pack?? Lippert shows it marked to chassis.?? Any help on any of these issues would be really fantastic. Thanks Stuck in laneway.Re: Forest River Georgetown class A motorhome
rockdudwe have a model 2604. since we have owned it, it has been to the factory on two occassions. first time for stress cracks to the rear end. warrenty covered the repairs. next summer the roof was leaking where the repairs occured. Had to go through BBB to get it fixed. service is terrible, design is flawed. the hinges are falling off the cabinets and now a water leak under shower that I cant access without pulling vanity and shower unit. Very poor design. It only gets used a couple times a year, we have been very disappointed so far.Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
Tina2011 wolf pup 1035 miles on it tires shot on the inside, gonna see what they will doRe: Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup travel trailer
DaleWWe bought a 2006 Rockwood Roo 26RS new, so have had it five years. Excellent camper, love the hard slide out. Perfect for a 4 kid family. Have replaced the sink fixtures, other than that been trouble free.Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo expandable travel trailer
Cheryl PetrowiakI'm trying to put this politely... LOve our new 2012 XLR 5th Wheel toy hauler. But the quality of it really sucks! This is the first brand new camper we have ever bought and didn't expect all of the major things to go wrong. My feelings is they slapped it together so fast that they didn't care what type of product was being sent out. We used once and the wiring was crossing that would short everything out. the stablizers in the back had to be manually screwed on.and then when camped only the second time we didn't realize we had to manually check our slide outs too. We go to use it and it bends in the whole fender! it leaks behind the shower, little nails (where trim should be) the lever for the gray water didn't push in)our friends have had worse problem... there slide out didn't go in, the water for their pump kept pumping put water in the cargo area, they turned on air and wood particles blew up. I just feel its brand new we have only used it 3 times really? USA quality should mean something right?Re: Forest River XLR toy hauler fifth wheel
TimWe purchased a 2011 V-Cross with front kitchen and love it. There is a lot of storage and it is perfect for a small family or a couple. Our first trip was to the mountains and we pulled it with a Dodge 3500 Dually and average 15 miles to the gallon through the mountains for more than 100 miles and that included sitting on the highway for over 30 minutes for an accident with the motor running. Not bad mileage for up hill and down hill driving. On flat ground I have gotten about 18 miles to the gallon towing the unit. Just like pulling anything behind a vehicle you know that it is there but with the sway kit there is very littl to no noticeable movement/drag. The V-Cross has surprised us with quality craftsmanship and cabinetry. The unit looks great and after shopping around for several months it met all of our needs and wants. Would definitely recommend the V-Cross and if there were any changes we would make it would be the leveling jacks but, that to me is something that can be done at anytime. Great product!! Re: Forest River V-Cross ST Super Lite travel trailer
loridoe anyone have the rockwood roo expandable toy hauler? If so how much can you put in the front cargo area? Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo expandable travel trailer
cathWANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE V NOSE CAMPER I HAVE A GREY WOLF THE TIRES WORE OUT VERY QUICKLY ON THE INSIDERe: Forest River V-Cross ST Super Lite travel trailer
BarkleeIn 30 years of camping, we went from bigger and bigger tents to a Coleman pop-up. No longer produced by Coleman, we could not replace a 12 year old trouble-free pop-up. We looked at the "next step" and found the hybrids. The Forest River 233S is an amazing trailer. I "over researched" hybrids and found this model and brand to meet any standards I could impose. Advice: shop around for the best price. Ours was custom built with options we added. We paid frieght charges by ordering it from a volume dealer and having shipped to a dealer near us. The local dealer could not match the "volume/out-of-state" price. Hopefully, if needed, service will not be an issue with a local Forest River dealer, who did not sell us the unit.Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo travel trailer
Camper JohnHave a 2011 Forest River Cherokee used 5-times and all the tires wore out. They are Trail Express. BEWARE of these tires, they are ALL BAD and have not been recalled. Lots of small stuff going wrong on this Fifth Wheel. Would never buy one again.Re: Forest River Cherokee Grey Wolf travel trailer
Hal56We have the 2011 Roo 233S. Just can't believe how much space we have. We have 3 tip out beds and a dinette on a slide. Nice kitchen and bathroom. Amazing design and no problems at all. Our family loves it and we use it every opportunity.Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo travel trailer
Tony JI agree with CFG. We have a 2010 Roo no problems, great camper.Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo travel trailer
CFGI think Forest River have sorted all the leak problems out, that's only on the older models. We have a 2011 Rockwood Roo 21SS and it's been absolutely wonderful for our family. One of the best things I ever bought. No leaks and no problems period. I really recommend it.Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo travel trailer
BLI'm considering purchasing one, and the value seems really good.Re: Forest River Georgetown class A motorhome
sonnyeOwn 2011 Georgetown 300ve 30'11" first thing had to add safeT+ steering stablizer. much nicer to drive now still thinking about air bags. This is a great coach inside and out. Re: Forest River Georgetown
LFwe have a 2007 Rockwood signature ultralight. While on a recent trip the bathroom vanity cabinet above the sink fell off the wall and broke the cold water tap off. There are no water shutoffs for the taps, so until we could get the taps fixed we couldn't use any water. We are trying to figure out the best way of putting the vanity back on the wall. The cabinets are well constructed but we are worried about the attachment to the walls of the other cabinets. We also have had an issue with the furnace. We have had it checked and it is apparently working fine but it pushes more hot air in the outside exhaust vent then it does inside. We are still trying to sort out the Concertone stereo system. The TV is cutting out - we have to shut it off and let it cool off for a few minutes and then it works again. I haven't been able to figure out how to connect a new TV to the systemRe: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
Ottawa Rockwood 1809S ownerI purchased a 2010 1809S in Spring 2010. From the start, had many many problems. The wheel wells weren't sealed, so bushels of road dust came in the unit. The range fan wasn't mounted properly so after every trip, had to clean up the sawdust (dealer said this was normal - eventually admitted there was a problem). Drawers fell apart. 1/4 inch gap between slide out floor and slide out wall. Bottom of the closet area fell out. Closet door hinges worked loose. All this in the first three trips. The dealer fixed up the issues at end of season. Today, I checked it at the storage yard, and discovered that the power fan housing in the bathroom has a crack in the corner. Anyway, I am somewhat worried about taking it on the road again. I thought RVing was supposed to be relaxing. Silly me. or just park it for decoration. Re: Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite travel trailer
Jimregarding carring 4 bikes on the back of your trailer. It is not recommended, after we lost our bikes twice due to the bouncing we modified the 4 bike carrier. We added a trailer hitch to the back of the trailer so the bike rack can be installed on the truck or the trailer but when on the trailer we added an additional support welded from the bike rack to the frame of the trailer with a turn buckle to prevent the bike rack from bouncing. We have put a lot of miles on it on the back of the trailer with no problems since the extra support. Re: Forest River Cedar Creek fifth wheel
Craig GI bought the SV-264 in September 2010. Took it out 5 times (16 days total) over 10 weeks. My wife and I love it. Great quality inside and out. Fast recovery on the water heater. There are two 30 gallon gray tanks, one for kitchen and one for bathroom. Love the rear kitchen. Love the full size queen bed, but we did replace the mattress with a high quality one. Much more comfortable. Total weight of trailer with all the extras (A/C, batteries and Propane), 36 gallons of water, and all personal items (pots, pans, clothes, food, etc.) is 5,800. Very light weight compared to similar length trailers and features.Re: Forest River Surveyor travel trailer
TomDid a lot looking before buying, overall very happy with our CC, had a few minor problems, ourdealer took care of. I did have a hydraulic leak, was just loose fittings, I'm close to my trucks limits, and handles fine.Re: Forest River Cedar Creek fifth wheel
Rae This (Rockwood 2604 Year: 2011) is our third trailer and the quality of the Rockwood is so terrible, I wish we had our smaller, but higher quality, Dutchman back again. We have had to rebuild most of the drawers, doors, cabinets, etc. Things fall apart as you drive down the road. Poorly engineered and the customer service has been horrible. Would never recommend this to anyone. Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
Chuck(ie)Anybody know what it's like to tow one of these? Seems like the turning radius would be somewhat decreased, unless the ball comes WAY back from the tow vehicle.Re: Forest River V-Cross ST Super Lite travel trailer
Alec M.With my first look, I could only say, "I want it!" "BADLY" 2/20/2011Re: Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup travel trailer
Chuck KWe have the toy hauler version and we love it. Forest River is the way to go.Re: Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup travel trailer
HawleyWoodWe own a 2009 CC 362BSA. Very happy with the interior not so happy about a problem we had with a blowout. It was blamed on an overloaded RV. CC stepped up and did the repair under warranty. It was due to tires rubbing on the shocks. At CC recommendation we removed the shocks. Love the unit and very very happy with CC supportRe: Forest River Cedar Creek fifth wheel

Jack CassidyOrdered a 1999 Georgetown, traded to a new 2004 in o4. Had several problems. Forest River factory fixed everything. We loved both of our Georgetowns and are now looking at the 2011 37.8. The wife really likes the 4 door fridge.Re: Forest River Georgetown class A motorhome
JH RH, GaWe just returned from our maiden trip in our new 2011 Forest River Surveyor SPT189 and I second Jon's comments on the earlier post. The refer fan was extremely noisy, enough to awaken you on start, run and shutdown. So, if you preparing to purchase this TT or any other Forest River product with a ventilation fan for the refer compartment you may want the dealer to run the refer until the ventilation fan starts so you can evaluate the noise before you lay down your money. As far as the rest of the camper is concerned, we could not be more pleased, we loved everything about it.Re: Forest River Surveyor Sport travel trailer
DG Macon, GAwe have an 06 233 Roo and experienced leaks at the seams at the upper corners of the bunk ends. Looks like it was pulling too tight. We corrected by using a clear tape waterproof product. No problems since. Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo expandable travel trailer
mikeI am considering buying a three-year old Rockwood 2104. Does anyone have any experience with this model (or related models)? Are there any (bad) attributes about this Forest River make/model to watch for? Thanks.Re: Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite travel trailer
Ross43I've had a good experience with a Georgetown motorhome from forest river and am now looking for a 5er. This looks good would like to hear anybody's comparison with a Carriage Cameo. Anyone had both?Re: Forest River Cedar Creek fifth wheel
Robin GI've had 2 expandable trailers including a 2007 shamrock. It's a great trailer I didn't realize the variety of floorplans available.Re: Forest River Shamrock expandable travel trailer
kshave a 2009 1thsb fithwheel nice , side loading toybox great--only issue is the power awning does not have adj pitch , sofar unable to find solution other than replacing a new awning Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
C.W.How do you carry 4 bikes on a Roo travel trailer that is 19 feet? I have a Trailblazer.Re: Forest River Rockwood Roo expandable travel trailer
JonJust bought a 2011 Surveyor 189 (19 foot). It has a noisy refer fan that is loud enough to keep you awake. When I took it into the dealer I was told they have had 5 complaints on units with the same thing. Of course the standard answer was "There's nothing we can do". After further thought, I called the dealer owner and explained how unhappy I was with the problem and their service department's response. The owner asked to keep the trailer for a few days while trying to get a "fix" from Forest River. I was told Forest River modified the fan to get the refer to fit and it left the noise problem. This is my seconf Forest River-never again.Re: Forest River Surveyor travel trailer

New CampersRecently bought our first brand new trailer, the Forest River Surveyor. Our steps do feel very sturdy and squeak every time you step on them. We looked at other brands and the steps are attached to the frames, but ours are not. The tech told us that is the way they are! Does anyone else have this problem?Re: Forest River Surveyor travel trailer
