Airstream Classic Limited travel trailer exterior - special edition 2011 model

The 2011 Classic really is a beautiful trailer with many innovative features.  We show pictures of the interior and all of the 2011 available floorplans below.

Some of the construction features:  "Every Airstream is built  to the same exacting construction standards and must satisfy the travel specifications of the world's most adventurous roamers: Airstreamers.  Chassis, running gear, body design and luxurious amenities are standard  throughout all Airstreams, regardless of model or series. Airstream  travel trailers are completely self-contained and fully equipped with the conveniences you need for extended stays away from standard electrical, water and sewer connections."

The above interior is the 31' model (see floorplans below)

Airstream says: "The Classic Limited comes with aluminum-framed windows that are riveted into the shell. The windows utilize tempered safety glass with tint and UV inhibitors. Your Airstream will give you incredible panoramic views from the inside, and the plentiful windows maximize the interior's light and expand its sense of spaciousness. One of the most appealing things about these windows is that they truly bring the outdoors inside. The expansive windows also provide excellent airflow when they're open. Another feature of the Classic Limited is our Vista View windows. These smaller windows are positioned near the top of the Airstream to bring you privacy without darkness."

Interstate ProWas one of the first buyers of the new Interstate model (2009). It is an excellent coach, have 75k miles on it over 4 years, total live-in time, me and my wife, 8 months, mostly on two week trips, but we did do a 2-month trip with a day or two stay at B&B's mixed in every couple weeks. Driven this up mountains, on rugged dirt roads, beat the heck out of it. Total challenges include, replacing bathroom faucet, replacing sewer hose, fix slide out step, replace inverter, leaky rear windows (this was an early design issue, does not affect newer models). The cushions in these vehicles are not designed for extended use, my rear sofa needs replacement. The mini blinds tend to go bad if raised lower a lot (cords fray and break). The newer units have significant electronic improvements such as HD cables, much quieter water pump, much improved seating. This is the best looking Sprinter on the road due to the custom bumper covers that Airstream uses, nobody else has these. If you want a full-time shower, then I suggest looking at a Leisure Travel Unit. Great build quality, and one of the best North American designed Class-B and Class-B+ units available.Re:2009 Airstream Interstate Class B
GMBI have an Airstream Basecamp with all options incl a/c and microwave but missing cushions for sale and will take $15k or best offer bauer_g@comcast.netRe: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer

Ripped offBuy anything but an Airstream Interstate total piece of junk from end to end and, its a fire hazard. Dont walk away from this brand, run.Re:2009 Airstream Interstate Class B
DaveI didn't know if you were still looking for an Airstream Basecamp blue interior. I have one with the 3000# axel. In really great shape! Blue interior Barely used and stored inside. Let me know if you're interested. I live in colorado. stevewest1890@gmail.comRe: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer
RESI have owned both the T@B and the TADA. Both were cute and worked for myself BUT not my wife. I will only consider an Airstream at this point. I look everyday over the internet and will at some point purchase. Can only go used. 30 JAN 13Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer
joeybAnyone that say's it's overpriced is nuts. Is airplane over priced? Is fiberglass 17foot trailer over priced YES $14k. Anyone that has shopped for New American truck knows over priced, your going loose 10k driving off lot. Are you going to loose with AS not so sure, they have tradition of going up some $2k in 40's now worth 30k plus. You want best you get Airstream.Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer
SSGT USMCI am looking for an airstream base camp. I have a 2012 jeep wrangler unlimited. how much does it weigh. please email me with details on my phone at shekharmoona@gmail.com : 20120922Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer
DavisWe have a 2004 Interstate and love it. It is perfect for 2 people but just took our daughter for a 3 day trip. Took a folding cop and she slept out under the awning. We have the "twin" model with the beds in front and the galley in back. We removed the jackknife sofa and put in a plywood platform and a new foam mattress. We have a front dining table/seating area that converts to another single bed. This layout is rare but we love it cause we can lounge or nap and still be available to the driver. We get over 20 mpg and driving is a breeze. Re: Airstream Interstate class B
BolerNowBambiLaterWe have a 13ft. Fibreglass icon now, but I am waiting for my future Bambi! As a vintage egg owner I understand quality of non stick built durability. No rot & soggy floors, as long as you maintain the rivets. The reason T@bs & Tadas (or other white sticks) are cheaper is construction. Do the research ... Yes the white box is 13000 now, but an AS or a fibreglass trailer won't devalue because of quality.... pay more now, get more when you sell. I'm all for quality.Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer
jamesWhy no price?Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer
Rattlesnake JoeNo room. No counterspace. Is this the future? Are we to live like the Japaneese in Tokyo. I am not a sardine. I'm a full fledged Guppy, a tax slave and moron, but not a sardine.Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer
TahoeJust bought a Basecamp .. and returned from first road trip. It is the BEST! Perfectly designed and usable. Solid everything. Nothing compares. Totally worth the $25k.Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer
MichaelWe were rookies with our 2008 Safari 22 but have about 5000 miles on her now. We put a 12" thick Temperpedic mattress over the dinette and left the dinette down and bed up. The couch was very uncomfortable and floor space very narrow. I narrowed the couch cabinet by 8" and installed 2 barstool chairs and built a table up between the two chairs (much more leg room and a comfortable seat to set in). I tow with a Ford 1/2 ton (4.6 V-8) 13 mpg mountain 15 plus on the flat ground. Tows great, handles wonderfully barely know it's there. One complaint - the discharge plumbing is very vulnerable - doesn't take very much of a bump to make contact with the ground (road). Too little road clearance for casual ingress and egress from driveways and parking lots and crossing street gutters. I am now waiting to see what it will cost to fix the damage caused by unseen dip in a street. Knocked the PVC elbow loose from sewer discharge outlet. (luckily tank was just dumped and cleaned). I will be designing a guard system or new discharge system to increase clearance. Overall we really like our Safari and are glad we bought it. Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer

Mark Looking for a basecamp. Please contact me if you have one for sale or know of one. thanks msneedtx@yahoo.comRe: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer
ArolI think this is great! Something with 2 in mind, for those who need more space while camping, pack a screen room for big kids, etc. I think these are designed right for 2 adults. If people want to add kids they have to adjust or get bigger camper. Now if I can just find a good used one I can afford. arolgeib@yahoo.comRe: Airstream Interstate class B

UrbanologistJust acquired a 2008 Safari (Thor Foreclosure) at a great price. Those that want a lower price point are seeking the wrong thing: LOWER QUALITY! You do, ultimately, get what you pay for. Aircraft quality construction and quality "craftspersonship" is not cheap. You need to shake the Walmart and Costco mentality to appreciate an Airstream. Yes, they are expensive bought new. However, these are legacy RV's; they can literally be passed down to your heirs. Secondly, they can be bought used. They still won't be cheap: they hold there value. Look and compare any RV to Airstream unit. Unfortunately, some people over extend themselves for a Airstream (that's how I got mine), or have been down-sized. These units get sold to raise needed cash. Unfortunately, their loss is your potential gain. Bottom line, Bentley's and BMW 7 Series are not Lincoln's or Corvette's Chevrolets. Go to the 2012 Alumapalooza held at the Airstream factory next May/June and see for yourself. Almost 70% of EVERY Airstream ever made is somewhere in the World! No other RV can make that statement. Period. Once you've owned one, you'll NEVER regret it. Just don't buy more than you can really afford -- you'll hate to see it leaving. Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer
TerryResponding to Robbies question about a tow vehicle for a 22 ft Sport. We tow a 2010 Sport with a 2011 toyota Sienna and find it to be an excellent tow vehicle. The 6 speed tranny is great. I can lock out 6th and tow in 5th with very rare downshifts to 4th. We get 17 to 19 MPG (canadiangallons..reduce by 20% for US gallons). The van is economical to drive solo as well. We chose the sport model as I thought it would be at the upper end of the Sienna's towing ability but I am now preparsd to move up by 1000 to 1500 pounds so will probably sell the Sport and get a larger Airstream. Anyone interested in buying my Sport can contact me at sallynterryaz@aol.comRe: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer
JudyI own a used (2009) Dutchman Tada and the only advantage the Airstream Bambi has over my Tada is that it is wider. When two people are in my Tada, it is difficult to pass each other. The quality is as good as the Bambi and the price is much less. Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer
Stuart GI have a garage kept 2008 Airstream Basecamp with blue interior that I am interested in selling. It has a portable toilet, spare tire and antisway device. If interested, contact me at sgooddoc@yahoo.comRe: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer
Redtailhawk369I'm selling a 1965 Silver Streak Sabre 19' in Very Good Condition. I can send picture. I live in California. I have it posted on Craigslist in the Los Angeles California section. You can also email me at: Pwarior123@aol.com Thank you..Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer
travelerI bought a 2yr old Casita and sold it 2 yrs later for the same price. I added new tires and many miles. I'm again in the market for a small trailer and thought the Air Stream would be a nice upgrade. It's nice all around but the price is ridiculous. The Casita is a much better buy so that's where I'll head.Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer
