JoeyDo you have this problem? Own 2007 Southwind 35A with a problem of sink cabinet trim pulling away from wall when sun shines on the outside wall. Closes back when wall is shaded. Fleetwood service center was no help
Coveman6bought a 2007 Fleetwood Southwind 37C. Now have 9000 miles and love it. Again same start up problems. Like buying a car 20 years ago. My dealer made all the difference in the world. I agree with Michael's comment. United RV is the tops. Great people family owned. I have no stake in this company and no personal relationship just one satisfied customer. Having a good dealer means everything. The coach performs very well. Expect to go slow up mountains but you can spend the extra little travel time counting how much money you still have in the bank since you did not buy a diesel.
MichaelJust bought my second Fleetwood. First was a disaster but the Dealer United RV in Fort Worth made it right. Fleetwood did not even blink our way. Get a good dealer walk the service department on weekdays and talk to the customers at random. The dealer talked me back into a Fleetwood and out of the shoot major problems; however even the high end Monarch coach my buddy has had startout problems. Let's see what Fleetwood does now. My trust goes to my dealer. My eye is on Fleetwood. I have nothing to do with the industry so my recommendation for United RV is totally objective. Great people.
Fleetwood FanWe just traded a 1999 Fleetwood 32V in on a 2007 Fleetwood 32VS. The 1999 was a pleasure to own and I expect the same from our newer model. I do believe that when shopping for a new unit, the dealer you pick is just as important as the coach you pick.
Abe FigueroaWe have a 2005 32V and love it. We had a few problems in the first year all taken care of with the warranty. We've had no major problems and have now done about 18,000 miles. It's a good coach, recommend it.
Mike BrancaWe have a 2008 Fleetwood Southwind 36D. This RV has a full wall slide and a bedroom slide in addition. The floorplan is a dream, we looked for over a year before we traded in our 1997 Damon Challenger which had given us very good service. We've had very few problems with this new Southwind and such as we've had have all been taken care of by the dealer. We have the Workhorse chassis option, no problems. We've had good support from both Fleetwood and the dealer. The only 2 real problems were a slight leak in extreme rain and the rear view camera only worked sometimes. Both fixed. Based upon your experiences, would you buy one of this manufacturer's RVs again?: Yes. Rating: 5/5.
riggarobI've had a 2007 37-C for a year now, and except for the usual 1st year stuff you get with anything new (and this complicated) we're very happy. This is our 2nd Southwind.
jasonI love my 07 southwind 32v...having problems with little things. Rear tv not working, convection oven and converter did not work. Converter fixed but waiting for tv and convection oven. Air conditioner on workhorse quit at 258 miles. Hope to have it fixed in a day or two..
ToyotaMikeJust traded out of an '05 Southwind 37C on the Workhorse chassis. GREAT coach, great floorplan and good power from the gas platform but decided to go diesel for more "umph" in the mountains. Had a bunch of problems in the beginning but ALL of them were dealer prep related. If the dealer falls down at PDI, then your life is hell for the first several trips. Fleetwood makes a great product; I've had many. They really need to work with their dealers though to help the customer. Hopefully, my new dealer and my new Fleetwood Providence 39S will come out of the gate strong!
RosalindI agree with "love the southwind". We have a 2005 32V and we've had very few problems. A great coach in my opinion. We're considering a new coach next year and I'd like the 35A with 3 slides.
love the southwindWe just purchased a new 2007 southwind 4 months ago with the v10 gas and so far we are very satisfied. It disturbs me to see the other reviews as we have not had to bring our unit in. Since we had problems with a diesel truck transmission we purchased this thinking it would be the answer to our problems. So far so good. this is a 32v. Love it so far. Very comfortable.
Ron CoatesI wonder if they've fixed some of the basic Southwind problems. I've had a 2000 and a 2003 Southwind and both had entry door alignment problems (neither were fixed properly.) We also had water leaks and electrical problems with both that were really down to poor quality control by Fleetwood. But, all-in-all I still think Southwind gives the best bang for the buck in a gas-engined class A.
DavidThis was our first RV and a very good choice. We bought it from Earnhardt in Mesa and we had good service from them. They dealt with all warranty items to our full satisfaction. We had several problems, the biggest one was a cracked bathtub. Standing in the tub one day - about 6 months after the RV was new, the bathtub just cracked. It was a very big job to renew it but it was done under warranty - it took a week or more. The only other real problem we had was with the water heater. The burner needed replacement. This RV only has a gas heater - no electric water heater. Having gas and electric is a much better arrangement. The RV was 32 feet - a good length. It had a gas engine. Diesel we've since found is much better (more expensive of course.) I would really recommend this RV to anyone thinking of buying a Southwind. An excellent RV well priced. Our dealings with Fleetwood were also very good. I found them to be responsive and very helpful.
