Coachmen Prism class C motorhome exterior
The vehicle size and the comfortable cockpit create a driving sensation similar to an automobile or SUV, and its 3.0 L V-6 turbo-diesel engine gets an estimated 17 to 19 miles per gallon.

Coachmen says: "If you’re looking for bigger motorhome living in a smaller, more prestigious package, you’ll find it in the all new fuel efficient Prism by Coachmen. Its curvaceous design and upscale appointments speak to its avant-garde styling. Built on the Sprinter chassis, Prism gives you a combination of nimbleness, freedom and elegant simplicity you won’t find in conventional coaches. Engineered to accommodate high-end features in a smaller space. And with its aerodynamic design and efficient turbo diesel engine, you go further for less! The essence of Easy Living, Prism is easy to drive, easy on the pump — and easy on the eyes!"

Just some of the standard features: Stainless steel wheel inserts, Spare tire kit, Seamless TPO roof covering, Power entrance step, 80" tall entrance door, Slideroom awnings, Full paint exterior graphics (option), Fiberglass running boards, Laminated crowned roof, Patio awning, Standard vinyl graphics, Fiberglass rear cap with spoiler, Fiberglass front cap, Laminated aluminum floor, Laminated high gloss sidewalls, Fiberglass baggage doors, Towing hitch with seven-way plug

The interior of the Coachmen Prism really is beautiful too as you can see from the pictures below.  Coachmen says: "Like a prestige car or luxury yacht, Prism’s interior is expertly designed to accommodate a collage of high-end, comfort-enhancing features in a smaller space."  And: "It should be no surprise that the sofas are hand-crafted with supple, soft touch fabrics like you’ll find in fine furniture galleries.

We show the kitchen arrangement below.  This is similar on all three models.  Coachmen says: "From the range to the refrigerator, hardware to faucets, we integrated stainless steel throughout the interior. FLOORPLANS

We show the 3 floorplans below - click for a bigger picture:

The bed and bunk arrangements are really very different for the 3 models.  The 240 arrangement gives perhaps the most living area, but the 240 is really a very elegant layout.  What do you think?

HHg in AustinWe have the 2009 Prism M230 and LOVE IT !! We have experienced NONE of the earlier mentioned issues. Cabinets are great, full drawer sliders, great use of space. The Freighliner chassis w/the Mercedes diesel does get very close to the advertised MPG,..as we get between 16-17mpg. The only issue I would mention is the dealer we bought from,....they may be "BIG",.....but their service is terrible,...so use caution when selecting a dealer ! HHg
NortherngalJanuary, 2010. We are downsizing from a 38' diesel pusher... we saw a Prism 400 miles from us for sale.. 2009, but never titled. We made the trip and it was the biggest disappointment. The coach looked so good on the outside..stepping in, it still looked good. When you began to really look things over, it was a real flop. The overhead cabinet door would only open about 1/2 way. You would have to struggle to put anything bulky in.. the couches were so deep, if you were 5'4" such as I am, your legs stuck straight out. The wash basin vessel was completely out of place and corner storage cupboards wouldn't hold but one roll of toilet paper. The pleated shades had little pieces of foam on the underside to keep them quiet while driving with them down. The ambient, rope lighting, was falling down, but worst of all, was the 4" or less foam mattress on the hida-bed. When the bed was extended, the foam wouldn't relax at either end, but if you sat on the edge, you sunk to the frame. The outside storage compartment doors required you to bend over to see what was inside. The outside was attractive, but the unit is not liveable. I guess, that's why they took it off the assembly line for 2010. Anyway, here again, the pictures were great, the coach was not.
Toriyou all are all complaining about the price but have you really looked at what they are selling for? mid 60's! for the used units I have looked at by the time you buy it, repair and repair it, much less pay for gas at 6 to 8 mpg you would have been better off with the compact units!
CarolineWe've been looking for the right class C for a long time and I think we've found it. Looks beautiful. Really like the 240 plan. I guess the lounge and table are like a dinette. I gotta see it. Thanks.
vicki love it. it's like a nice modern apartment. a step up from the freelander. i'm looking at a sprinter or freightliner class c as my first rv and this is the one i would buy if i won the lottery today !! p.s. great website
JTLook at the new Coachmen Freelander on the Sprinter Chassis, it's in the 60s and yes they do get great fuel mileage
DavidSomething this size would be perfect for one person; but, way too fancy and expensive to consider. A simple plan on this chassis would be perfect; at half the price.
rt66mermaidLooks beautiful from photos I've seen ..still don't see anyone caryying one near where i live though!
HomerI have severe doubts about the mileage factor. The coach looks great, but they have kicked it into the high dollar range. What you save in a few dollars of gas is eaten up by the high cost. Not what we need right now.
John K17 to 19 miles per gallon sounds really good to me, I get 7 mpg in my class A. I'd like to see a floorplan but it looks good for the price.
