| CableGuy | Opinions on the cover for winter are mixed. Some say it's good; others say it can trap moisture and do more harm than good. Other things to do to winterize: Remove the battery, empty water from the holding container and put in some RV antifreeze, re-install tank and run water until you get antifreeze out of the sink. Remove anything left in fridge and any personal items that may be damaged or cause damage from freezing/thawing (liquids, etc.). I also like to use the jacks to take the weight off the axle/suspension and tires. | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Sally | We have a brand new T@B and want to get it ready for winter storage. We live in northern NH and it gets really cold. We have it in a cover-it to protect it from the snow. What else do we need to do to winterize it? | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |

| Shelley | Just looked at a T@B TS 2010 (the one with the bathroom) and the dealer made no mention of Thor not manufacturing the product any more. Does anyone know if they are not producing them any more and why? And if they aren't producing them, why would they come out with the new TS for 2010? | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |

| CableGuy | On the issue of the R-Pod -- it's a good unit with its own advantages and disadvantages -- but it's not "much nicer" than the T@B. I looked at both and bought the T@B. But I agree that the R-Pod is a good place to start looking now that the T@B is apparently history.
The headroom in the T@B is an issue that will affect everyone differently. It all depends on how you are going to use the trailer, and your own expectations for how you want to live on the road. I am 6'2", so I can't stand up in my T@B, but it's really no issue to me at all. In a trailer of this size, how much time do you spend walking around? You don't. When making food on the stovetop, I sit on the nearby seat. It's just not an issue for me. | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Billy Bob | If you can no longer get the T@B, look at the R-POD made by Forest River. Much nicer than the T@B and fully self contained, all for less money. There is also a R-POD Forum with a lot of good info. | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Bill Robison | We bought our EggCamper a few weeks ago. Boy is it roomy! I'm a big guy at 6'3" and about 260# - it seems just right for me - lots of headroom both standing or lying in bed! I have created some mods to put on a bath door, rear storage and make the second bed wide enough for both granddaughters to sleep comfy. I've taken all the wood doors down so I can paint them a soft color my wife picked out to coordinate with our cushions, etc. Have some ideas for solar charge unit - but for now will use Honda EU2000i genset for remote camping.
If anyone would like to see one in real life we are near Lansing, Michigan. Send us a note deepthinkers(at)gmail.com

| Rod Mohr | I bought a 2005 in Salt Lake City this month and it came with a yellow and black Screen room. No instructions or brand name to be found anywhere on it. It has sectional aluminum poles, clear plastic window that lift with lines. I saw a T@B newsletter on the net with good instructions, but mine is of a different design. | CableGuy | Kevco - I have a 2010 T@B, apparently one of the few that were or will be made, and I am pleased with the quality. The trim piece you spoke of has come loose in a few places on mine - I just glued it myself rather than running it back to the dealer, who would have been happy to fix it. I've pulled it about 5,000 miles so far, no problems other than that, so I've got no complaints. It's a good little trailer. | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| CableGuy | Yes...which is why I suggested not chancing it with the EU2000. You're fortunate that the generator simply tripped out rather than damaging either itself or the Cool Cat. The 2,400 that you have is still 400 watts below the recommended level, but I'm glad this one works for you. | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| bikingrandma | Cute, but kind of sparse and utilitarian looking, not "homey" at all. But maybe with a few decorator touches here and there...
Looks well built, though. | Re: Eggcamper small travel trailer |
| kim | CABLE GUY & KEVCO
A 2000 generator will not work if you want to run the air conditioner. My husband and I have tried the Honda and the Yamaha and they would start the air conditioner and overload and shut off almost instantly. We bought a Yamaha 2400 and it works just great! | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Hilditch | For the price, I want quality and low maintenance. In the last 15 months with my loaded 550 Ultra I've had to wear too many hats. Electrician, Plumber, Roofer, Engineer, Mechanic, Front-End Man, Painter, Carpenter, & Detailer.
When one uses the cheapest Aluminum on the market with no protective coating and neglects to use glue on the body where it is needed, you can expect that pretty look to last until the first time it rains, followed by wet bedding. Beware, this ain't no Airstream. | Re: Camp-Inn teardrop trailer |
| jeff | Kim. am interested in your red bottle cover. campnagle@aol.com | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| CableGuy | According to the specs for the Tab's Cool Cat heat pump, the recommended generator size is 2,800 watts. While the EU2000 has enough watts to run the Cool Cat once it's going, the EU2000 may lack the capacity to start the compressor. There are people who say on these forums that the Cool Cat works with an EU2000, but some also say it doesn't, so it's marginal. It's best to avoid a situation where you're taxing something to limit, because even if it seems to work okay, the Cool Cat's compressor could be damaged by being forced to start with inadequate power available, and the generator could also have its life shortened by repeatedly being called upon to produce more power than it's rated at. | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Kevco | I would like to get a generator for my tab trailer I have heard the Honda 2000 companion generator with the RV plug ,will run the AC, is this true? Thanks Kevco | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |

| Greg Albright | Trying to help my friend sell his 2005 T@B trailer. He has only slept in it twice and has never used one appliance..hard to believe, but true. Obviously he would love someone to enjoy it more then he has. I got pics and video for anyone interested (all silver model) Not certain on the value, but it seems to be worth ~$9,500. e-mail or call me. | dave p | just finished a 10,863 mile trip towing the egg. no problems....rear bumper will not handle the weight of two bikes. bends and cracks the weld. need to weld reinforcements. traveled highway, back roads and real back roads. no problems and some real bumps. | Re: Eggcamper small travel trailer |
| Meg | Kevco,
Thor is done making T@B & Tada. I really doubt they will resume. Also was told that the black strip on the outside is "decorative only", as I noticed at the lot it is is already coming off, and my brand new ceiling (2010), has many...areas where the glue didn't properly seal the carpet, resulting in a number of sagging bumps. I keep hearing that the company will still honor warranties, but I have my concerns. Also it is becoming difficult to hunt down accesories, and the ones you do find are totally gouged. $900 for a cover??? All that though & I am still pretty happy with the price I paid ( I think) for a new one. If you are handy get one while you still can- | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Kevco | I am thinking about buying a 2010 T@B trailer, with new bathroom. But I am hearing bad things about Dutchmen, and Thor, I was told the plant was not making any T@B trailers, is this for good or just a short time? I have read many comments about getting parts, and trim parts coming off when driving, I have seen many trailers on the lot with trim coming off! The black rubber seal over the roof, on the sides of the roof. I love is trailer but should I buy one! Thanks Kevco | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
| Mark | I am selling a used 2006 T@B Fireball with queen bed, coolcat air conditioner / heat pump,3 way frige, Northern breeze fan, attached 10x10 screen room, new tires.Very good condition -$9000.00.248-660-4957 Michigan | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |

| Gordon Banks | I like teardrops and I've looked at a few. The Cozy Cruiser is my favorite. Great trailer. | Re: Cozy Cruiser teardrop trailer |
| CB | I love the spare, multi-use design of this little car-trailer I bought new this Spring and have put a lot of miles on it behind my Matrix over the summer. But customer service is what it is, (the "entertainment center" never worked....,) One of the windows is under to much pressure to open and close, and now the roof is starting to cave. I am afraid to void whatever warranty I might have by taking it apart, although till this far it seems like it is a moot point. Suggestions? CBjazz@gmail.com | Re: Little Guy teardrop camper trailer |
| Teri | I just bought a gently used 2006 TaB. I am looking for an awning and a tent room. I am particularly interested in the tent room. I have a TaB cover in perfect condition that I would be willing to put in the negotiations for a tent room. teri_root@bellsouth.net | Re: TAB teardrop trailer |
