Coachmen Freelander class C motorhome interior looking forward

The pictures above and below show looking to the front and looking to the rear.
Fixtures and fittings are to a high standard. Lakeside maple cabinetry together with hardwood cabinet doors and drawers is standard on all models.  We think the interiors have been well thought out.  Some aspects are beautiful; the curved dinette (2100 CB model) in the picture above is an example.
The picture below shows the 2700 RS arrangement.  The kitchen layout is a nice feature:

Coachmen Freelander class C motorhome interior looking to rear

We show the main bedroom and the bed sofa arrangement available on some models (see floorplans below.  Coachmen says: "Freelander accommodates the whole family in comfort for an easy night’s sleep. Most models have residential-size queen beds (not the short variety usually found in other RVs), a roomy bunk over the cab and, on select models, an easy-to-convert hide-a-bed sofa."

Coachmen Freelander class C motorhome interior - bed arrangements

Coachmen have created a wide range of floorplans for the Freelander

All of the models have the usual class C cabover bunk and 4 of the models have a slideout. All of the models have 80 inch queen beds except the 2200 TB which is interesting with twin beds that convert to a king bed. 3 of the models have particularly nice dinette arrangements. Look at the floorplans and add a comment or question at the forum section below if you wish...

Re:Coachmen quality improvementsGaryCoachmen was recently bought out by Warren Buffet. When he came aboard--- he actually discarded RVs that had not been sold and told everyone to 'start over from scratch'. I think you might find that the newer models are nothing like those built several years ago.
Re: Coachmen Capri Microreal.escapes@yahoo.comI saw a used 2007 Coachmen RV Capri Micro 159 DB travel trailer on a re-sale lot and fell in love with it but can't afford the dealer's asking price. Is there an older model having the Rear corner shower, toilet, rear corner double bed, refrigerator/TV above, double kitchen sink, 2 burner range, front sofa w/removable table? Please contact me by e-mail. Thanks.
Re: Coachmen Spirit of America travel trailerTonyI am thinking about buying one for permanent residence. Would I be able to do that?
Re:Coachmen quality improvementsVenessa WIn spring of '06 we bought a Coachman Chapperal TT, we used it a month, and a fitting came apart, and flooded the entire camper we have pictures of water pouring out of all 4 corners,of our 1 mo old camper. The reason we bought the unit is because I had to be in a clean environment while going through a bone marrow transplant. Need less to say with that much water flowing through it mold started forming instantly, & my Doctor's wouldn't let me set foot back in it. It took over a month of arguing with Coachman, but they did replace it with a new unit. This one is now 4yrs old and has done great. I guess there are flaws in everything, but no matter what you buy, double check all the fittings to make sure they are tight!
Re: Coachmen Capri MicroRosemaryWe have a 2009 179QB Capri Micro and we really love it. But with the grand kids wanting to go camping, we need something a little larger. We would be interested in selling it, but I almost hate to give it up. The bed is really comfortable and enough storage for us. We live in No. Calif and our email is rcosta@frontiernet.net It s been used only 5 times in the 1 3/4 that we have had it. Very clean.
Re:Coachmen quality improvementsj webbThinking of buying a 2007 Coachman sportscoach 40QS quad w/350 turbo cat and 25000 miles. Looks really good. Is anyone famiular with this unit?
Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomeHHg in AustinWe have the 2009 Prism M230 and LOVE IT !! We have experienced NONE of the earlier mentioned issues. Cabinets are great, full drawer sliders, great use of space. The Freighliner chassis w/the Mercedes diesel does get very close to the advertised MPG,..as we get between 16-17mpg. The only issue I would mention is the dealer we bought from,....they may be "BIG",.....but their service is terrible,...so use caution when selecting a dealer ! HHg
Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomeNortherngalJanuary, 2010. We are downsizing from a 38' diesel pusher... we saw a Prism 400 miles from us for sale.. 2009, but never titled. We made the trip and it was the biggest disappointment. The coach looked so good on the outside..stepping in, it still looked good. When you began to really look things over, it was a real flop. The overhead cabinet door would only open about 1/2 way. You would have to struggle to put anything bulky in.. the couches were so deep, if you were 5'4" such as I am, your legs stuck straight out. The wash basin vessel was completely out of place and corner storage cupboards wouldn't hold but one roll of toilet paper. The pleated shades had little pieces of foam on the underside to keep them quiet while driving with them down. The ambient, rope lighting, was falling down, but worst of all, was the 4" or less foam mattress on the hida-bed. When the bed was extended, the foam wouldn't relax at either end, but if you sat on the edge, you sunk to the frame. The outside storage compartment doors required you to bend over to see what was inside. The outside was attractive, but the unit is not liveable. I guess, that's why they took it off the assembly line for 2010. Anyway, here again, the pictures were great, the coach was not.

Re:Coachmen quality - POOR!! HUGH JWE BOUGHT A NEW COACHMAN 36'AURORA FULL SIDE SLIDE IN NOV. OF '08. IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. HYDRAULIC LINE TO BACK LEVELERS WAS RUN NEXT TO MUFFLER... BURNED IN TO. SEVERAL MOLDING PIECES INSIDE OF COACH CAME LOOSE. WHEN LIFTING THE BACK TWO LEVELERS ON A VERY SMALL SLANT, BOTH BENT (BRACES TOO WEAK)! DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER ASSEMPLY CAME LOOSE & SPUN AROUND ON TOP OF COACH. GENERATOR IS TOO SMALL. TRIPS EASILY. STEP MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. PLUG WIRE SHORTED OUT!(WAS UP AGAINST MANIFOLD). LADDER TO LOW! BROKE OFF TWICE PULLING OUT OF SERVICE STATIONS. HAD TO CUT IT OFF SEVERAL INCHES & RUN PIPE INSIDE. WATER PRESSURE PUMP POOR. VERY LOW WATER PRESSURE! ON & ON THE LIST GOES!! WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND COACHMAN TO ANYONE! OUR '96 COACHMAN MOTOR HOME WAS MUCH TOUGHER & SERVED US WELL!! WE THOUGHT WE WERE UPGRADING!
Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomeToriyou all are all complaining about the price but have you really looked at what they are selling for? mid 60's! for the used units I have looked at by the time you buy it, repair and repair it, much less pay for gas at 6 to 8 mpg you would have been better off with the compact units!
Re: Coachmen Adrenaline Blast toy haulerCheryl & KenThe problem we have is with the rear ramp door bubbling and pitting - clearly it is defective. Has anyone had these problems with theirs? The manufacturer is giving us a hard time with replacing it! Other than that we absolutely love it!
Re: Coachmen Adrenaline Blast toy haulerJerryWe are selling our like new 2008 21'Blast as we unable to travel as much as we would like to. Added features to it are - fiberglass sides, additional screen room and awning that attach to rear ramp and micro-conv oven along with electric trac queen bed. Re: Coachmen Capri MicroNancyI have a 2007 Capri Micro 159 and it has been a very good trailer. i need to sell it so can get a larger unit.
Re: Coachmen Concord class C motorhomeGeorgeBe careful what you wish for! (See my former comments.) I finally bought the 3-slide Concord I wanted. Had it for one weekend - leaks from both front corners, gas line to stove was pinched in the slide due to crude design (a potentially dangerous flaw), and I could barely walk between the two front slides when closed. The coach was obviously rear-heavy, as well. Felt like the front wheels barely touched down. And that squeaking overhead cabinet! What was I thinking??? Now I have a Phoenix Cruiser 2950 - excellent quality and no problems. Drives like a Cadillac.
Re: Coachmen Spirit of America travel trailerChuckI would have to say that the 2009 coachmen spirit of america that i purchased the end of April in 2008 has been nothing but a host of problems. This is not my first trailer. I had a 2007 capri that had minor problems all covered under warranty. But when we decided to upgrade we got a lemon. We used the 2009 twice in 2008 closed it up for the season. Opened it inmid June due to a very cold and rainy new england spring and found that when I had closed the slide out it had pealed the linoleum of the floor, I had also had the master bed come apart at the point where the piston held the bed up. I took it to my local dealer for repairs and was told that Coachmen had a 1 year warranty and all repairs were on me. The cost in excess of $3000. Poor workmanship should not fall on the consumer. We were able to take the trailer out 2 weeks later and upon hooking up to fresh water found that my water lines had burst under the sink and now I have no recourse but to try to warn others away from Coachmen who have no concern other than to get your money and leave any warranty issues to you. Coincidentally Coachmen no longer warranties 2009 trailers they have sold the division to Four winds trailers who have no interest in paying for any prior defects in a Coachmen product. So I am now stuck with a brand new trailer that a spent about $29,000and can't use. Do your homework carefully before buying this product. I hope others have better luck than me.

Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomeCarolineWe've been looking for the right class C for a long time and I think we've found it. Looks beautiful. Really like the 240 plan. I guess the lounge and table are like a dinette. I gotta see it. Thanks.
Re: Coachmen Spirit of America travel trailerChrisdo not buy coachmen!!! bought mine in april. 15 weeks later still no trailer. dealer is unable to fix slide-out,yet they can't give me my money back. have to go through coachmen directly who will not call me back
Re: Coachmen Freelander class C motorhomeSteveThis is the second rv we have owned. We grew out of the first one. I bought this 2007 rv from a local dealer and we have had nothing but problems. Slide motor went out, bolts that hold the slide in broke off, shower exploded into pieces, the holding tanks don't read proper levels, converter shorted out due to exposed wires and water leaks from the bottom of the shower and toilet. If you want something that will be in the shop more than you use it, buy a Coachmen product. Also, Coachmen was more than willing to stand by their one year warranty, one week after the warranty they refused to fix any of these problems. Great company!
Re: Coachmen M-Series small travel trailerRetro RayI have trouble accepting a "lite" trailer that has a slide. Slides add a lot of weight!
Coachmen Adrenaline Blast toy hauler 2010RoTi RV reviews"An affordable multi-purpose hauler, Blast is ideal for loading up with your tools and supplies during the week and with your toys on the weekend"
Re: Coachmen Adrenaline Blast Toy HaulerBike couple in AlabamaWe bought the 170 Blast and couldn't be happier. Just some minor additions and it makes a great little camper for the money.. sure beats sleeping in a tent.
Re:Coachmen quality improvementsEddieI have a question - not sure if I'm in the right spot - I recently bought a 2 year old Clipper 128 st Sport. It seems when it rains, water goes into the channels at the bottom of the side walls and drains away - for the most part. However, it seems to collect under the panel access for the fridge, and storage compartment. As a result, it has seeped onto the floor causing some minor, but noticable water damage. (If you look for it, which I always do!) I took it to a local Coachmen dealer and they said it would work best to check to make sure there is no debris at the bottom of the drain holes in the channel - they suggested I use a garden hose to do so - I did this and some water came into the camper. I did manage to clear out some debris. They also suggested that drilling additional drain holes would help as well (which I did). Now the problem seems to be worse. My question is - why are these channels even there? To me the logical thing is to silicone them so that water doesn't get in in the first place. The tech at the dealer said people who have sealed them usually have to have it re-done; to me that's better than having water directed to the bottom of the walls. Does anyone have any insight or ideas? My instinct is to seal the channels, but don't want to do so until someone with more experience can shed some light on this. That has to be the most bizarre design I have ever seen!
Re: Coachmen M-Series small travel trailerCapri loverThe version with the slide-out is perfect. I think this is the best little trailer I've seen and I've been looking for over a year.
Re: Coachmen Capri MicroBluegrasserI have owned a Capri 179 model for two years. This is perfect for the weekender may be a week. Has all the comforts of a larger more expensive trailer. Outside stereo, gas grill connection, shower (sand, mud, etc)and sets up in 15 minutes or less. Whether hook ups or not I'm there. It pulls very well; no fish tail noted and at 75 mph. Has all the ammenities needed inside. Now I wished I had the toy hauler...
Re:Coachmen quality improvementsTLWe've owned a 2005 Coachmen Capri travel trailer since late in the model year. The refrigerator has always been problematic (getting it to start cooling and continue cooling without error messages) since we bought it. The latest issue is with water damage to the sub-flooring caused by a hole in the underside near a wheel well (poor Coachmen build quality again). Now there is a bow in the flooring near the bathroom/kitchen area. This promises to be an expensive fix. Would not buy a Coachmen again.

2008 Coachmen Spirit of America Rod BeattyWe've had 2 Coachmen travel trailers and have been happy with both. We now have a 2008 Spirit of America Since new we've spent more than 50 nights in it and have towed it more than 4000 miles. We have a Hensley hitch and love it, no problems. We've had a few problems as you get with any RV of course but nothing major and they've all been sorted under warranty. Good company.
Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomevicki love it. it's like a nice modern apartment. a step up from the freelander. i'm looking at a sprinter or freightliner class c as my first rv and this is the one i would buy if i won the lottery today !! p.s. great website
Re: Aliner Amelia small travel trailerRomanWe've been looking at the Coachmen M and the R Pod but the Amelia looks like another alternative, like to read peoples opinions. Like the TADA too.
2009 Coachmen M-Series small travel trailerKamping GirlWe bought the slide out version and LOVE it. Great quality and good use of space. The bed was pretty bad (aren't they all?) so we bought a foam memory topper and now it's great!

Re: Coachmen Shasta Airflyte travel trailerSheilaI saw this this New Shasta Airflyte at a RV show recently. I'm very partial to small trailers. This was the most stunning trailer there, hands down. The interior is simply beautiful with the woodwork and craftsmanship. The floor is beautiful and very retro. The size is great. With Coachmen selling, I wonder if this is the only year we will see this trailer built?
Re: RV waste disposal - gravity or pumppaulnyI am a full timer with a 2007 Coachmen 35 footer class A. One of the reasons I liked them is because of their no mess gravity system where the hose is stored in a swivel pipe (they can still make a few improvments on). I also use a macerator pump when I visit friends homes. Its great!! I pump the waste into the homes air vent where the house plumbing system exits to the sewer. Never had a problem, just takes about an hour :( thats the only down side, that and cleaning and putting all the hoses and pump away. But it is better then having to leave and drive around looking for a place to dump!!
Coachmen FreelanderJTLook at the new Coachmen Freelander on the Sprinter Chassis, it's in the 60s and yes they do get great fuel mileage
Re: Coachmen Capri MicroDanIf you go to the Coachmen RV site, they don't even have a link for the Capri Micro model. What is up with that??
Re:Coachmen quality improvementsGregI'm seriously considering buying a 2009 Spirit of America (Alumicage version)trailer. Is Coachmen quality good?
2004 Coachmen Concord 235S ReneeWe bought a used 2004 Concord 235S n 2005. It's a perfect size for two adults (sometimes with 2 grandkids). It drives like an SUV and has plenty of power going up hills. We've driven it places you wouldn't think of taking a big rig. We looked at a lot of B+ RV's before we decided on this unit and we love it!
Re: Coachmen Shasta travel trailerScott AllenI restored a '62 Airflyte several years ago and we camped all over Southwest Washington in it. I'd buy this new trailer but no propane...I don't see the point in spending $20k when you have to stay in a parking lot next to a plug.
Re: Coachmen Shasta travel trailerrich in VaI have a 1966 Shasta 13 ft---I am rebuilding the interior---it's a no frills unit--no bathroom-no furnace -no water heater--just stove and a little water no grey tank---i will add that. rich.
Re: Coachmen Shasta travel trailerPaul RosmanI'm thinking about buying a shasta, looks good. I like the old style look of it but love the modern interior. Great job coachmen.
Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomeDavidSomething this size would be perfect for one person; but, way too fancy and expensive to consider. A simple plan on this chassis would be perfect; at half the price.
Re: Coachmen Prism class C motorhomepaulnyHmmm,,,, They claim 17 to 19mpg, that means in the real world it might get 11 to 14mpg. To much ART-DECO!! If I am going to spend over 100K for a motorhome I want some walking around room inside and a bed with room for two adults. Good-Luck Coachmen!! I will be looking for the next year end meeting minutes to see how this flies, esspecially your QC report on the Prism.

Re: Coachmen Shasta travel trailerPam KWe've had our 2005 Shasta since new and have not had any problems. We find there's plenty of room and there's even plenty of storage room. I wouldn't want to spend long long periods in it but it's perfect for weekends. We pull it with our Ford Excursion with no problems.
