| Re:Skyline Koala travel trailer | Rick | I just purchased one of these from George M Sutton RV. I still cant believe how much we love camping in our Koala. We have had so many disappointing RV's in the past 30 years. The price was thousands less than the others we looked at but we would have gladly paid thousands more and felt it was worth it. We traded a 2009 RV that was so horrible we almost gave up camping all together. |
| Re:Skyline Koala travel trailer | Hector K | This is a nice trailer at a nice price and we're Skyline fans. My current trailer is a Jayco Jay Flight but this Koala is my next pick. |
| Re:Skyline Koala travel trailer | 2bob2 | I'm a Skyline fan. We have a Layton trailer that we keep in a campground and use as a second home. If I was buying a new RV the Koala would be great. Love to see America, wish I had the time and money. |
| Re: Skyline Joey travel trailer | Higgs49 | We have the 2011 285 Joey. One slide plus bunks for the kids. A perfect arrangement for our family. Plenty of space and no problems towing. |
| Re: Skyline Layton destination trailer | Logjam | We have owned a Skyline Nomad 24" trailer since 1997 and are extremely happy with it. The main reason we bought it was that there was no Dinette. Instead a Jacknife sofa with a fold down extendable table. We have never been able to find a similar floor plan, but we are ready for a new one now. I would love to get involved with designing a similar trailer for 2 people with an occasional visitor bed like we have now. I am sure thatnthere are countless RVers out there don't need a trailer that sleeps more than 2, with enough space for an 8 week stay somewhere. |
| Re: Skyline Layton destination trailer | Ladybug | In the market to buy a new travel trailer, our first and are looking for a 26 - 28ft. Really like the looks of the Layton Joey Select. Would this be a good choice? I look forward to your honest opinions |
| Re: Skyline Layton destination trailer | Richard G | We have a Weekender 150 ltd and have since 2008. Note, Aljo, Weekender, Nomad, Layton brands are all the same product, just a different front stencil. We love it - for two has everything we wanted in a small trailer. Some minor fixes needed, but all taken care off during the warranty period. Had problems with a local dealer, but Skyline in Mansfield Texas customer service went to bat for us and handled everything to our satisfaction, and found another dealer to our liking. I would buy another skyline just to have Charlie in Skyline's Mansfield Manufacturing site customer service at my back. Design and basic construction are very sound. People that ultimately did warranty repair were independents authorized by Skyline, who have been in the repair business since the 60's. Told us due to the corner wrapping and strapping used in Skylines, they had never seen a skyline product leak due to frame loosening. Said that Skyline and Terry products were the best stick-built manufacturers on the market. In corner wrapping, the aluminum siding is wrapped on edge over the frame, forming a rigid reinforced metal box over the wooden frame. Cross strapping adds diagonal metal bracing across the wooden frame, forming a truss system. They also said the quality of materials used by skyline was better than others. Good wood, etc. The corner wrapping is unique to Skyline, and used in all there stick-built models. Great value, great product, great customer service. |
| Re: Skyline Layton destination trailer | Ginger | Really like this. We bought ours in March and keep it in a park in So. Ca. Much better than the trailer we had before (also a Skyline) |
| 2001 Skyline Layton 2510 | Rockman | I have a 2001 Skyline Layton 2510 that I think is really well built. Have towed it coast to coast and have had very few problems. It's got great storage and is laid out well. Pulls well. Like the look of these destination trailers particularly now we're not traveling so much. We wouldn't need the bunks but would be great if we had the grandkids I guess. |
| 1999 Skyline | Judy Sampson | I bought a new 2950 Skyline in 1999.That has been the best trailer ever.I have never had to bring it to the dealer for anything.I am very very happy with skiline. |

| Re: Skyline RV sales down | Eat more Q! | Hold on Boys! When Fema is done selling the fema trailers you can get in on the action. Unless ofcourse you can talk your buddy GW to give the trailers to another country. |
| Re: Skyline RV sales down | John A | Fleetwood, Monaco, Coachmen, National, Skyline - they're all coming in with losses. Building RVs, particularly travel trailers is not a good business to be in right now! |
