| Arol | I think this is great!
Something with 2 in mind,
for those who need more space while camping, pack a screen room for big kids, etc.
I think these are designed right for 2 adults. If people want to add kids they have to adjust or get bigger camper.
Now if I can just find a good used one I can afford. arolgeib@yahoo.com | Re: Airstream Interstate class B |

| Urbanologist | Just acquired a 2008 Safari (Thor Foreclosure) at a great price. Those that want a lower price point are seeking the wrong thing: LOWER QUALITY! You do, ultimately, get what you pay for. Aircraft quality construction and quality "craftspersonship" is not cheap. You need to shake the Walmart and Costco mentality to appreciate an Airstream. Yes, they are expensive bought new. However, these are legacy RV's; they can literally be passed down to your heirs. Secondly, they can be bought used. They still won't be cheap: they hold there value. Look and compare any RV to Airstream unit. Unfortunately, some people over extend themselves for a Airstream (that's how I got mine), or have been down-sized. These units get sold to raise needed cash. Unfortunately, their loss is your potential gain. Bottom line, Bentley's and BMW 7 Series are not Lincoln's or Corvette's Chevrolets. Go to the 2012 Alumapalooza held at the Airstream factory next May/June and see for yourself. Almost 70% of EVERY Airstream ever made is somewhere in the World! No other RV can make that statement. Period. Once you've owned one, you'll NEVER regret it. Just don't buy more than you can really afford -- you'll hate to see it leaving. | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| Terry | Responding to Robbies question about a tow vehicle for a 22 ft Sport. We tow a 2010 Sport with a 2011 toyota Sienna and find it to be an excellent tow vehicle. The 6 speed tranny is great. I can lock out 6th and tow in 5th with very rare downshifts to 4th. We get 17 to 19 MPG (canadiangallons..reduce by 20% for US gallons). The van is economical to drive solo as well.
We chose the sport model as I thought it would be at the upper end of the Sienna's towing ability but I am now preparsd to move up by 1000 to 1500 pounds so will probably sell the Sport and get a larger Airstream. Anyone interested in buying my Sport can contact me at sallynterryaz@aol.com | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| Judy | I own a used (2009) Dutchman Tada and the only advantage the Airstream Bambi has over my Tada is that it is wider. When two people are in my Tada, it is difficult to pass each other. The quality is as good as the Bambi and the price is much less. | Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer |
| Stuart G | I have a garage kept 2008 Airstream Basecamp with blue interior that I am interested in selling. It has a portable toilet, spare tire and antisway device. If interested, contact me at sgooddoc@yahoo.com | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |

| traveler | I bought a 2yr old Casita and sold it 2 yrs later for the same price. I added new tires and many miles.
I'm again in the market for a small trailer and thought the Air Stream would be a nice upgrade. It's nice all around but the price is ridiculous. The Casita is a much better buy so that's where I'll head. | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |

| Robbie | We love the 22' sport, compact & modern, very well laid out...we want one. One question: what is most compact efficient vehicle for pulling 22' sport?? We don't want a monster truck or SUV, can anyone recommend a towing vehicle? | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| GracLen | I really love the airstream look. When I was a kid we always had an Airstream. I've decided my kids should have the same and the Flying Cloud is THE model as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to look for a used one that I can afford, but I guess a problem is they hold their value. | Re: Airstream Flying Cloud travel trailer |

| Pat_457 | I agree, Airstream are the best and I really like the Flying Cloud best of all. I think the people who argue about the price simply can't afford one. | Re: Airstream Flying Cloud travel trailer |
| Sean | Fabulous and worth every cent. I have a 2009 and apart from my family it's the love of my life. Those who argue about the price are like Ford drivers who argue that a Mercedes is overpriced. This is the Mercedes of travel trailers or maybe even the Masarati. Get over it - or even better, get one (if you can afford it?) | Re:Airstream Classic Limited travel trailer |
| Big Lew | I have to agree with Mr. Beach. I do love the airstreams, but they are overpriced. Very similar to a Harley Davidson where as the name has more to do with it selling than the actual workmanship.
To say that the airstream has more value because it is more difficult to make just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If we took the Casita and put rivet after rivet in it, does that make it better just because it took so long? Or, would you be concerned with the fact that it might have a better chance at leaking?
Again, I really like the Airstream, but there are so many other options today like the Egg, Casita, Lil Snoozy, Park Liner etc. They are so easy to tow and mind you, most have the same shape as the airstream. BTW....the fiberglass eggs have just as much resale as the airstreams! I can show you 30 foot airstreams that are selling for 1200-3000.00 and no one wants them simply because of the size of the vehicle that is needed to tow them and the gas that goes along with that. I would not say all people are looking to save money, but I think saying most people today are looking to save money will stand in line for the fiberglass campers. In this case, size does matter! | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| Chris G | A custom ordered covered cargo trailer converted to a camping configuration would be cheaper, probably lighter and uniquely customizable to the owners desire and needs. | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| 50" wide bed | If you look at the pics you can see that the bed folds out so that it is one 50" wide bed. that it presumably as long as the trailer. So it's a bit smaller than a full size bed width wise. | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| Robert | Like all Airtreams, this unit is way, way overpriced! You can find comparable brands and models that might not look as 'space-age' but with the same features and comfort for a much more respectable price. | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| Ron | How does a R-Pod trailer compare to a Bambi. I have noticed they are lighter, cheaper and has some real good features. | Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer |
| Carlos | I am selling my 2008 Airstream Basecamp. mint condition, red interior and includes a portable toilet small refrigerator and more.

| Julie | Yes it's a little pricey but you couldn't build it for anything less and this little gem will outlast any plastic trailer. A perfectly beautiful piece you could hand down to your grandkids. | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| tj | I think the base camp is unek I dont like the regler modles they are ugly this is slik and i like the toy hoaler is a nise toch | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |

| Bob | Saw one of these in a campground this summer. Nice! I like the lightness of it, and it sure stands out. Owners were very happy with it. Cost less than others with the same quality. They let me see the interior...cool! | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| paintinbiker | think the smallest Bambi would be towable with a 2010 Chrysler Town and County vsn Limited 6 gear 6 cylinder. What yall think? | Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer |
| Charley in MT | Love it - - Want a toyhauler but don't want to give up my Airstream. I would like to see floorplans for a 26 foot. How cool would it be to have a Murphy bed in the garage area. | Re: Airstream PanAmerica toy hauler travel trailer |
| Linda | The purpose of this vehicle is to have a fuel efficient way to travel the country. Yes, it is tight to move about in. However, it will park in any parking lot and it is a dream to drive. And you can't beat the airstream luxury. It has everything that a big motor home has except in tighter quarters. The shower is more than adequate. The cooking galley is great. The seats are comfortable. The bed is comfortable as well. We are more than satisfied. | Re:2009 Airstream Interstate Class B |
| Hoover | We bought new in 99, 19 ft Bambi, initial problems solved by buying a F250 diesel instead of V6 Explorer. It pulls great hardly know its there, but hard on SUV driveline. Towed over the biggest grades into Crater Lake, Los Angeles, Down highway 1 to Santa Barbara, up to Reno and many points in between. The bed is tough to make but sleeps 2 6fters fine, the shower is a dream, can stand up tall. Would like a bit more room, inside, and a 2 compartment kitchen sink. Sounds like I've been spoilt, is pulling the box trailers different? May sell if the offer is right Hooverdawg(at)gmail(dot)com | Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer |
| Harold | Bruce do you still have the Airstream Basecamp? | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| Rita K | To Thomas Beach - why is a mercedes worth more than a ford. Airstreams are the classic. You want cheap? look at another brand. | Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer |
| Brian P | I think the Classic is fabulous just wish I had the money to buy the limited 34' model. | Re:Airstream Classic Limited travel trailer |
| Harold | I live in Illinois & am looking to buy an airstream Basecamp if I could find one. Small but has everything you need except shower & toilet ! Jawohlschatz(at)sbcglobal.net if anybody knows where I can buy. | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| Thomas Beach | Yeah... Airstream trailers are very nice. Yeah, they have a no maintenance outer skin. But I would like for someone to tell me why I should plunk down $30,000.00 for a 16 ft. trailer?!?!? I'm sorry. But these trailers are simply overpriced for their relative worth. | Re: Airstream Bambi small travel trailer |
| timtripper | with a 50' bed I just might fell tall. Price seems steep, but the concept is great. I'm looking for something very utilitarian: sleep one, towing with a Honda Civic, after years with a aged Volvo wagon. Any thoughts | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| Toby | Well it is real good looking, but it is too small to be usable even for just 2 people. A 50" bed...is it for an 8year old. You need 2 32"X74" beds to sleep 2 adults. When you are camping or traveling you need to get a good night sleep. Of course the price is way too much | Re: Airstream Basecamp small travel trailer |
| Brutus | My masters just bought a used Safari Sport 17 in March 2010, and they absolutely love it! It's easily towable by their V6 Jeep, and looks stunning. It's a purebred, you know. The Safari Sport is Airstream's 'more European' model. The Italian stove and sink in the kitchen are functional and beautiful; the interior - aluminum, gray upholtery, and light coloured wood - is sleek and modern, and the L-shaped lounge in place of the American dinette is cozy. Needless to say, I'm not allowed on the couch if I have rolled around in the mud! After having shopped around and seen a lot of small trailers with ugly interiors - even a dog finds the 'country kitchen' look unappealing - my masters do not regret for a moment buying it. It's a cool toy, for sure, and a design icon to boot! Sure, it gets a lot of attention, especially up here in Ontario where they are as rare as a Norwegian Lundehund. Mr. Beach (see below) will save money not buying this trailer, but when my masters are ready to upgrade to another Airstream they know that the Safari Sport will fetch a great resale price. Two paws up! | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
| Thomas Beach | Airstream trailers are renowned for their quality, use of space and ease of towing. I will concede these points. However, in preparation to buy a new small trailer, my research has included asking people at campgrounds what they think of their trailers. And I was shocked to hear so many luke-warm or negative comments on new Airstreams. Additionally, how does anyone justify spending $25K+ on a tiny Airstream when for a little more than half that price, a couple can own a lighter, comparably-sized Casita Trailer? I have inquired of Casita owners as well, and have universally seen nothing but smiles as they spoke in glowing terms about their kittle Casita. This is always followed up by a friendly invitation to step inside and take a look around. I have researched and compared for the past year. And I have come to the conclusion that a Casita will be our trailer of choice. | Re: Airstream Safari Sport travel trailer |
