Forest River Surveyor sidewall construction  Lightweight aluminum framings

Forest River says:

What’s in your sidewall? Your Surveyor is constructed with 1.5” tubular aluminum framing in “all” openings. Is this necessary - we thinkso! Aluminum framed openings add strength and integrity to every Surveyor sidewall. No other lightweight trailer compares.

Forest River says "Luxury is well within your reach in the extraordinary Surveyor. Beautiful residential style cabinetry and kitchen, raised panel cabinet doors, spacious pantry, plus the large entertainment center makes this a great choice for affordable elegance.' ...We show the interior of the 2V294 model here (see floorplan below):

We also show the SV264 model with white wood interior.  Forest River says:  "The appeal of the optional white wood revolves around the hardwood cabinet doors. Contrasting with the wood plank flooring, the cabinetry harmonizes with Surveyor’s interior décor."

Craig GI bought the SV-264 in September 2010. Took it out 5 times (16 days total) over 10 weeks. My wife and I love it. Great quality inside and out. Fast recovery on the water heater. There are two 30 gallon gray tanks, one for kitchen and one for bathroom. Love the rear kitchen. Love the full size queen bed, but we did replace the mattress with a high quality one. Much more comfortable. Total weight of trailer with all the extras (A/C, batteries and Propane), 36 gallons of water, and all personal items (pots, pans, clothes, food, etc.) is 5,800. Very light weight compared to similar length trailers and features.
JH RH, GaWe just returned from our maiden trip in our new 2011 Forest River Surveyor SPT189 and I second Jon's comments on the earlier post. The refer fan was extremely noisy, enough to awaken you on start, run and shutdown. So, if you preparing to purchase this TT or any other Forest River product with a ventilation fan for the refer compartment you may want the dealer to run the refer until the ventilation fan starts so you can evaluate the noise before you lay down your money. As far as the rest of the camper is concerned, we could not be more pleased, we loved everything about it.
JonJust bought a 2011 Surveyor 189 (19 foot). It has a noisy refer fan that is loud enough to keep you awake. When I took it into the dealer I was told they have had 5 complaints on units with the same thing. Of course the standard answer was "There's nothing we can do". After further thought, I called the dealer owner and explained how unhappy I was with the problem and their service department's response. The owner asked to keep the trailer for a few days while trying to get a "fix" from Forest River. I was told Forest River modified the fan to get the refer to fit and it left the noise problem. This is my seconf Forest River-never again.
New CampersRecently bought our first brand new trailer, the Forest River Surveyor. Our steps do feel very sturdy and squeak every time you step on them. We looked at other brands and the steps are attached to the frames, but ours are not. The tech told us that is the way they are! Does anyone else have this problem?
Tim SeattleBought our first new T/T, a 2010 Surveyor SP210, very nice trailer that is light enough to tow with my KIA Sorento. Only odd thing with the trailer was the DVD player is not hard wired to work with a TV. Seemed odd that Forest River would put in a DVD player without a way to hook it up. Furnace is incredibly loud when running. I have heard that is not a unique problem. Other than that great trailer with only a few minor defects at delivery (three loose and one missing screw)
AcadianBobWe bought a 2008 SV235RKS. We found the quality of the trailer upon delivery to be excellent. In 40+ nights of camping, we have had 2 problems; a leaking water fill tube and a broken trolley on the slideout. Both fixed under warranty by our excellent dealer. This trailer pulls very well; a function of torsion bar suspension and the low ride height. We would definitely buy another Surveyor.
Hal PReally like this trailer. Looking to find an expandable Sport about one or two years old - halp437 at yahoo.com
RossiterReally like Forest River. We have the 2008 235RKS Surveyor rear slide. Wonderful RV and great floorplan with the king bed slide and the twin bunks. Big enough for our family but small enough to tow easily.
charles patonLove forest river hated the dealer we bought it from. forest river have given us a lot of support and i really think they're a good company we have the surveyor and it's a really good rv. chuck.
Greg HWe have a 2007 Forest River. This is our first RV and we've been very happy with it. The bunk beds work fine and it's perfect for a family of 4. No real problems and it tows well. We've had a few minor issues dealt with by the dealer and they are not easy to deal with but Forest River are very helpful when you talk to them. I would certainly buy Forest River again but I would choose a different dealer.
