Winnebago factory tour "one of the best factory tours in the USA"

Picture: With the Winnebago drop test, a unit is hoisted into the air and dropped on its roof to check for structural integrity of a new design. You’re not likely to see this test anywhere else!

Winnebago Industries’ factory tour has been selected as one of the best in the U.S.A. by factory tour experts Karen Axlerod and Bruce Brumberg in the new edition of their book, Watch it Made in the U.S.A.

“At Winnebago Industries, we utilize our factory tour as a tool for demonstrating our commitment to manufacturing quality motor homes,” said Winnebago Industries Chairman of the Board and CEO Bruce Hertzke. “Not only are visitors shown our state-of-the-art facilities, but they are also able to see some of the hidden advantages of our design and manufacturing processes that allows us to build up to 250 motor homes a week. We’re proud to show visitors the technology and innovation our state-of-the art facilities have to offer.”

Wendy :   All I want is for Winnebago industries to stop building their units over plastic inside them. Every dealership has their own carpet masking and us detailers are getting really pissed off having to cut that crap outta there. Besides, we can't check the units in properly till that plastic is all cut out. NOW STOP BUILDING EVERYTHING OVER PLASTIC ON THE INTERIOR

Larry :   Hi: Was told that Winnebago was the best. I am looking for a special unit and I would like a list of all dealers within a 200 mile Radius of area code 54129 (Hilbert Wi.)

RoTi :   Bill K - Please follow the link above - "Want to visit the factory? - here's how you do it". Best wishes, hope you enjoy the visit.

Bill K :   Yes, my wife and I would like to tour the Winnebago Factory. Are there RV parks nearby, to stay in while visiting the area? Does one have to make reservations ahead of time. How can I get more info.?

Tom A :   The factory is in Iowa at Forest City and the tour and the video they show you takes about one and a half hours plus time to look at the motorhome exhibits. Other things worth doing if you're going to the area are the John Deere factory in Waterloo Iowa and even the Wal-Mart visitors center in Bentonville Arkansas. The Wal-Mart visitors center is in the original building that was the first Walton 5 & 10.

Andy :   Is the factory in Iowa or Indiana? We would like to visit during our cross country trip this summer. Is it really worth the trip? Thanks for the advice.

Pete N :   Wow, that picture is amazing, I never imagined an RV manufacturer would go so far as dropping an RV on its roof to test it! I guess they do this only once for each new design and its not something you see at every factory tour!
