MELROSE PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Under a new multi-year agreement, Navistar Engine Group will supply its advanced V8 turbo diesel engine to Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc., a leading maker of Class A recreational vehicles. Beginning in June, MaxxForce® 7 engines, manufactured in Huntsville, Alabama, will power Tiffin’s new Allegro Breeze® RV, manufactured in Red Bay, Alabama.
“We’re always looking for new ways to offer more value to our customers, and we’ve done it again with this new high-end, smaller coach,” said Bob Tiffin, CEO of family-owned Tiffin. “The Allegro Breeze is wonderfully maneuverable, easy to park and fun to drive thanks to one of the most powerful, durable and fuel-efficient engines on the market.”
|
The press release goes on to say:
The V8 diesel pushers will be fully compliant with applicable EPA emissions standards. Tiffin will use 6.4-liter MaxxForce 7 engines rated at 215 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. torque.
“MaxxForce engines fit perfectly with Tiffin’s reputation of providing high value and low cost of ownership, while introducing innovative products,” said Eric Tech, president, Navistar Engine Group. “We’re proud to add another industry leader of U.S.-built motorhomes to our list of partners.”
This past November, a concept model Allegro Breeze RV was introduced to dealers and news media at the annual Recreational Vehicle Industry Association's 47th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, and was awarded “Best in Show”. At 28 feet, the Allegro Breeze RV is 17 feet shorter than Tiffin’s top-of-the-line Zephyr® RV, but only 9.5 feet longer than a typical full-size SUV. The Allegro Breeze GVWR is 21,500 lbs. The Allegro Breeze RV will begin appearing at Tiffin's network of dealerships in the U.S. and Canada in June 2010. Pricing has not yet been announced.
The MaxxForce 7 will be rear-mounted on Tiffin's own PowerGlide® chassis. Introduced in 2008, the PowerGlide chassis quickly became a popular option, offering one-stop service for Tiffin owners at dealerships and the Tiffin service facility. The PowerGlide chassis for the Allegro Breeze RV is newly designed on a coach-ready platform.
Tiffin Motorhomes received one of three prestigious Quality Circle Awards presented by the Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association to Class A motorhome manufacturers this year for design, reliability, quality, value and competitive price. | Re: Tiffin Phaeton class A motorhome | Carlton Wilkins | Jim Shafer-I have been looking for this circuit breaker for about 3 weeks. Where is it. Yes we have a 2008 Phaeton 40 qdh and love it. Have had some issues with clutch fan but maybe they have been solved. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Bus motorhome | P W Black | We were pleased to trade for the New Allegro Bus. But that was temporary. No hot water on delivery and a few other glitches made the joy soon fade. It appears a lot of the folks who knew what they were doing were on vacation when our special order came through the line at Memorial Day. Looks good. Too many little annoyances and big that should never have happened. Hoping to survive the next trip. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Bay | David & Mary G | We own a 2007 Allegro Bay 34XB diesel. We love it. We keep it garaged and clean and get lots of comments asking if it is new. The only problem we had was a leak in the dual pane window on the passenger side when it was just out of warranty. A call to Mr. Bob Tiffin resolved the problem. He truly cares about his customers. A lot of companies could learn a lot from Tiffin about customer service. This is our first Tiffin product but, God willing, it won't be our last.
My older brother has a 2004 Allegro Bay and he feels the same about Tiffin Motorhomes. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro class A motorhome | Jan | Well we own a 1987 Allegro basement model, we are full time rv'ers and it is still on the road with no leaks or problems cannot buy better. |
| Re: Tiffin Phaeton motorhome | Kelly | Tiffin make a great coach. If only I had the money this would be my choice |
| Re: Tiffin Phaeton motorhome | James FT | I've had 2 motorhomes and the one Tiffin was the best. I'm looking around now and after looking at a few I think the Phaeton looks the best for the money. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Breeze class A motorhome | leona p | We have a new- 3 weeks old, 2011 Tiffin Allegro Breeze and want to have responses from other Tiffin Allegro Breeze owners about their new rv..driving? steering? on the road? |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Bay | Norman Smith | We purchased a 04 Allergro 30'from an RV dealer in OR the RV is great but due to poor cust svc we waited over a month to get it and then we were charged over $2000.00 for repairs. Please help.

| Re: Tiffin Allegro Breeze class A motorhome | Steve and Jennifer | Bob and family have it done it once again...we are on our 8th Tiffin motohome and have nothing but "praise" for Tiffin. Bob truly believes in "we go where you go" as he stated to me once because his family name is on the side of every coach built. We love you Bob and Judy and keep up the excellent work. We are so proud of how you weathered the recent financial crisis and have emerged so much stronger. We will continue to pray for you and your family. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Breeze class A motorhome | Brenda | Does anyone know where the resettable fuses are? We lost air and radio and other power on the dash and the driver's electric seat. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Bay | Don & Mary | We are looking for a pre-owned Allegro Bay Diesel. We presently own an Allegro Open Road, but would like to move to the next level. Anyone need a buyer?? We're seriously looking for one with at least three slides, low miles and a washer/dryer, or washer and dryer. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro 2009 36 feet diesel pusher | jean Smith | Want to own a diesel pusher 36ft.four slides 2009 or 2010 |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Breeze class A motorhome | Pat C. | Really like the looks of the new Tiffin Breeze. Looks like it has lots of basement storage that I lack. And diesel to boot! I have a 1994 Allegro DA28 which is great. Will have to wait another 15 years to find a used Breeze that I can afford. Maybe I'll win the lottery! |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Breeze class A motorhome | Kevin 457 | I'm really interested. Don't want to drive a 40er any more. Waiting to see pricing. Great idea. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro class A motorhome | Casey K | Tiffins just keep getting better, in fact I think they're the best. I have a 2007 Allegro and it's a delight. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Bay | Skip | We purchased our 2009 Allegro Bay late last year. We absolutely love it. We traded in our 'ol Winnie in on it and have never been happier. The people at Happy Daze RV took care of us. Top notch customer service for us. I recommend Tiffin over anything else out there. We were looking into a Monaco, but the Allegro Bay grabbed our attention and has not givin us one issue. |
| 2008 Tiffin Allegro Bay class A motorhome | Bob & Pat | Bought an 08 Allegro 34' at recommendation of friends. Unhappy with dealer we purchased from. Leave that one be. But are very happy with response from Bob Tiffin regarding front windshield that had to be replaced twice. So far no problems. All other problems minor & fixed easily. We have been looking at other RV's & keep going back to our Allegro. Just like it best. We are thinking upgrading to a diesel & have been doing a lot of comparing and are convinced that we will stay with Tiffin product of some kind. |
| Re: Tiffin Allegro Bay | Russ | I am the proud owner of a 2007 Alegro Bay Fred. I had a 2005 Alegro that I also bought new (Workhorse) Had no and I mean no problems with this one. I did have some problems with the bay that were corrected at the factory. Met Bob Tiffin at Lazy Days, FL in the year 2000 and I think he is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. He does his best to satisfy his customers. |
| Re: 2008 Tiffin Allegro | Don W. | I have a 2007 Allegro 34 TGA on a workhorse chassis with 6500 miles. It is a great motorhome. |
