Newmar
Corporation,
an
industry
leader
in
recreational
vehicles,
announced
that
it
will
offer
a
five-year
structural
warranty
on
all
of
its
products
beginning
with
the
2008
model
year.
"Newmar
is
proud
to
provide
this
structural
warranty
as
a
symbol
of
our
commitment
to
quality
and
the
customer
satisfaction
experience,"
said
Matt
Utley,
Vice
President
of
Service
Operations.
The
structural
warranty
states
that
if
any
part
of
a
Newmar
recreational
vehicle
superstructure
fails
to
perform
properly
within
five
years,
from
the
date
of
purchase,
due
to
faulty
workmanship

material
supplied
by

it
will
be
repaired
without
charge
for
either

warranty
is
available
only
to

This
warranty
is
especially
significant
coming
from

quality
products.
"We're
very
conscientious
of
the
products
we
offer
in
our

said
Mike
O'Connell,

"We
know
that
whatever
happens
to
a
product-
even
if
it's
not
made
by
us
-
is
ultimately
a
reflection
on
Newmar.
Our
customers
don't
make
a
distinction
between
what
we
manufacture
and
what
is
supplied
to
us.
That's
why
we
cannot
accept
second
best."

I cannot understand why the warranty is not transferable, surely it should be honoured no matter who owns the rig, this would put me off buying a newish pre owned unit.

:
The trend is for all manufacturers to offer better warranties as is the case with cars. It doesn't matter who makes a particular piece of equipment, it's up to the RV manufacturer to ensure the equipment manufacturer meets the better warranty. I think all high level coaches should be warrantied for 5 years on ALL aspects.

I don't think the manufacturer can be responsible for all the equipment for example the refig or tvs but I think the manufacturer should stand by the structural arrangement he built. I think 5 years on the structure is a good idea and a good selling point.

:
I think this is good and I think all manufacturers should have a similar policy. It doesn't warranty the entire coach it warranties "against faulty workmanship or material". Why not, surely all manufacturers should have good quality control now.
