Arizona boondocking in the desert

Arizona boondocking in the deserted desert is the way to go. There is plenty of places to go and have a relaxing vacation right on BLM land that doesn't cost anything...or like $180 a season.

It is so cheap to live in AZ my fellow campers speak in soft voices so the hordes don't hear us..

I live full time with my wife in a Casita 17' fiberglass travel trailer with the high axel and big wheels and taller tires to get off the road and into the pretty canyons.

A word of warning, once you experience the freedom and cost effectiveness of boondocking, it just may turn you into a desert rat too and your friends and family will think you have been out in the sun too long.

So sell the house that is a yoke around your neck, get a self contained travel trailer and start living once again. There is no STRESS in the desert, just make sure you are camping above Hwy 8 and not close to the Mexican border.

2015 Keystone Bullet 248RKS travel trailerDavis TravelerThe toilet lid does not stay up as a result of the toilet being installed too close to the wall. It just needs to be moved 1/2 to 1 inch from the wall to remedy the problem. The local Keystone service dealer said Keystone would not fix this problem as that was the way it was designed. I phoned Keystone directly and they told me the same and they reiterated that they would do nothing to fix this problem. I would advise against anyone interested in purchasing a Keystone RV as there is NO interest in satisfying the customer. I am sure there are several options they could have proposed to help satisfy us just 2 months after purchasing this trailer. Keystone's attitude towards customer service has turned me off to all of their RV products.
Re: Thor Motor Coach Showcases Brand New 2015 Motorhomes on the West CoastKen BrownWe bought a new 2013 Thor Tuscany 42WX at this show. Got to use it one weekend had to take it back to the dealer and it has been there for 3 weeks and still not done. I hope the factory and the dealer get it together soon and get it fixed.

2015 THOR Motorcoach A.C.E.27.1ReneThe driverside side window is leaking, Camping World tried to fix it but without success, ordered new Window. 8 weeks later THOR said- the dealer Camping World should seal it again. One tire has damages on the sidewall, THOR feels not responsible. A leaking Window is a nightmare, THOR also.
Re: RV maintenanceMtn ManThe water froze last night that is connected to my Jay Flight and I got the water thawed today but I still don't have any water inside the camper. What should I check?
Re: Palomino Bronco truck camperHowardI bought a 2012 bronco 600 camper. in june of 2012. used it for two trips then on the third trip to southern utah the crank failed. I had to go into Escalante utah and get a room. it was under warranty so it was fixed for free but the camper sat in the repair shop until the end of November almost two months so i could'nt use it. the next summer the hinges on the back door decided to sieze up cost me 150.00 to have new hinges and it took a month to get the parts to fix again. this last summer in June 1 and 1/2 years after the first crank system broke. I was in wyoming and the crank failed again. I took it back to where I had bought it new and they said it was out of warranty and it would be 900.00 to have everything repaired, including hinges. I argued that it should be under warranty since the first one had failed, but it was no use. the camper then sat for another two months waiting for another crank so I couldn't use the camper again this time for the whole summer. I agree twe should ask for a class action law suit. these campers are junk and are not dependable and if there is one thing we need in a camper in the back country its something that is dependable. oh and my refrigerators mounts have all crack and are barely holding it in. The small closet door was ripped from its hinges from driving on rough road. The company I bought this from Access RV in Salt Lake city are not taking responsibility the camper, manufacture is not taking responsibility, and the manufacturer of the crank system won't take responsibility.I am fed up I will be selling this as soon as lay down the 900.00 to pay the bill.Maybe small claims court.I hear that a good pop up back road camper is called the "4 Wheeler". very dependable and sturdy.two things this Forest river product is not.

Re: RV industry bubble - just like housingPatty O CamperI enjoyed reading the interview with Randy Potts, the new CEO of "Winnebago". His comments confirmed the feeling I had about the economy and it's impact on the RV Industry. I also noted he ignored the interviewer' s question about "how president Obama could help the RV industry" the question was stupid. The best thing government can due for the economy in general is to back-off on all the regulations that have strangled the American spirit of self-reliance. The crash in the economy was the result of government involvement in the housing industry. Insisting that banks loaned money for real estate to people who could never make the payments....all in the name of "equality". Banks started to fail, the housing market went into a depression and all because too many unqualified mortgage holders failed to make their payments. During this crisis the government continues to print money every week reducing the value of our currency on the world market and fueling inflation in this country. It is good to see Winnebago isn't in line for any government handouts like too many members of our dependent society seem to be. Reduce regulations, build the Keystone pipeline and the price of fuel for our RV's will go down....and get the ethanol out of our gasoline....it is reducing gas mileage and destroying our motor vehicles!9/2/2014 8:56:00 AM

Re: RVing with Your PetCoryWe travel with 2 senior Goldens and a young one... It is very important that our Fur Babies stay cool, I would have not thought to leave a key with the camp host or a note... We usually don't lock the door when we leave them... And a ramp is very important to have to help get them in and out so the steep stairs don't hurt their hips. 7/18/2014 12:23:00 PM
