EarthRoamer XV-LT four wheel drive camper RV - production resumed - press release
Earthoamer press release 3/19/2010 -  Xpedition Vehicle Service LLC (operating under the tradename EarthRoamer) has purchased the remaining assets of LLC which filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2009 and has resumed production of EarthRoamer brand Xpedition Vehicles.

Bill Swails – designer of EarthRoamer XV-LT and XV-JP Xpedition Vehicles – has teamed with former key managers to start a new company and re-launch the EarthRoamer brand. The new company (Xpedition Vehicle Service LLC) has purchased the remaining assets of LLC which filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in late 2009. The original EarthRoamer XV-LT molds and “EarthRoamer” trademark were among the assets purchased by the new venture, and the company will be operating under the trade name “EarthRoamer.” The new company recently resumed production of EarthRoamer brand Xpedition Vehicles.

When launched in 2002, the four wheel drive, turbo-diesel, Ford F-550 based EarthRoamer XV-LT revolutionized the expedition vehicle marketplace with its innovative design, quality construction and “go anywhere” capability.

The XV-LT is capable of running entirely on renewable biodiesel and solar energy. In a marketplace where traditional RVs continue to rely on noisy generators for electrical power, the EarthRoamer XV-LT utilizes a .5 KW solar panel array and a 6.1 KW/h AGM battery bank. Biodiesel compatible air heaters, water heaters and stoves replace the propane appliances found on traditional RVs. EarthRoamer XV-LTs are designed to tackle any terrain with features like four-wheel drive, aggressive military tires, front and rear heavy duty bumpers with winches, and high intensity discharge (HID) lighting.

2007 marked the launch of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited based EarthRoamer XV-JP. The XV-JP quickly established itself as the most capable four wheel drive camper in production by being the first self-contained camper to complete the notoriously challenging Rubicon trail in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The EarthRoamer XV-JP with its revolutionary LoftTop™ design was later recognized by the Boulder County Business Report when it received their IQ award for innovation.

EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles have confidently carried their owners millions of miles ranging as far north as the shores of the Arctic Ocean and as far south to the Panama Canal. Expeditions to South America and Africa are in the planning stages. One intrepid EarthRoamer owner and his wife spent almost three years driving completely around the world in their EarthRoamer XV-LT.

Demand for the revolutionary camper design was strong and over 100 EarthRoamer XV-LTs were sold between 2002 and 2008 at an average retail price of almost a quarter million dollars each. The company’s rapid growth was recognized in 2008 by Inc. Magazine when it reported EarthRoamer as the 597th fastest growing private company in the U.S. Inc. Magazine also identified EarthRoamer as the 8th fastest growing private transportation company in the US and the 9th fastest growing private company in the Denver metro area. With growth limited by production capacity, in mid 2005 LLC purchased 3.5 acres in Lafayette, Colorado and began design of a new corporate headquarters and production facility.

Following record sales the 4th quarter of 2007, LLC moved into a new 56,000 square foot corporate headquarters in February of 2008 – just as diesel fuel prices began to climb to over $4.50 per gallon and the stock market began a precipitous decent. High fuel prices and a faltering economy caused a rapid drop in new vehicle sales and by midsummer 2008 the company had laid off half of its workforce. By the end of 2008, the company was unable to service the debt on the new corporate headquarters and had ceased operations. Subsequently, LLC was forced to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Recognizing the need to service and support existing EarthRoamer vehicle owners and an opportunity to revive the EarthRoamer brand, Bill Swails joined forces with former production manager Eric Rexroth, and former service managers Tyler Tatro and Mike Funari to form Xpedition Vehicle Service LLC. The new company – operating under the trade name EarthRoamer – recently signed a long term lease for production space and corporate offices just north of Denver at Long’s Peak Business Center in Dacono, Colorado. Currently the company is manufacturing EarthRoamer XV-LTs in temporary leased space until the new space is ready for occupancy.

Bill Swails and his team will be taking the EarthRoamer brand in new and exciting directions with designs for both larger and smaller sized expedition vehicle models already on the drawing boards. The team also plans to offer its expertise in expedition vehicle design and construction to provide design/build services for individuals with unique requirements. “If you can dream it, we can build it” says Bill Swails, president and CEO of EarthRoamer. In addition, the team is actively working on implementing new technologies like fuel cells, external combustion generators, lithium ion battery packs and parallel hydraulic hybrid drive systems. According to Bill Swails, “By aggressively embracing new and exciting technological advances and emphasizing world class design, EarthRoamer will continue to be the recognized leader in designing and building the most comfortable, capable and environmentally responsible expedition vehicles in the world.”

LuvmycamperJuly 26, 2014 I have had 2 Trail Lite's and loved both of them. I have read a lot of negative comments here and I have experienced most of them. My current trailer is a 2000 model 26 foot with rear kitchen/bath and sofa slide. All my problems were of my own making. Number one, you have to be vigilant with everything on the roof. The only water damage I have experienced was where the vent pipes extend through the roof. The hardware on the roof is plastic and over time will degrade from the sun and get hairline cracks. I replaced both of them with metal ones and no more leaks. I had to repair the floor and replace the vinyl and now it looks like new. Another problem was the cables on the dump valves were not cut to length at the factory. I took them loose, shortened them and no more dumping problems. I have pulled this camper from Virginia to the west coast twice. Once to Whitehorse Yukon Territory, 3 times to Florida. Once to Texas then New Mexico and back and once to Maine and back. I have worn out 3 sets of tires so far and this camper is ready to go anywhere I want to take it right now. I don't know why any one would need a manual. All the equipment is standard stuff and the manuals for all those things was included with mine. You have to realize also that these campers were built to be light weight and are not the high end type that some folks expect in terms of finish and upholstery. If you want that stuff you will have to have a big truck to pull all the weight. Please don't bad-mouth a product that is "as advertised" when most often your problems are because you yourself did not do due diligence in maintenance. I paint all the metal every two years, clean and seal the roof twice a year, re-caulk as necessary and lubricate doors and windows regularly too. Enjoy your camper and if it is not what you expected then sell it and get something heavier.Re: R-Vision Trail-Lite travel trailer

Herbert JonesWe just purchases this unit. Everrhing in it worked properly on our maiden voyage of 500 miles. We went to crater lake Oregon. However we had one of the new tires blow out because of a defective sidewall. We were just informed by the dealer that it will be 2-4 weeks before they will receive the relacement tire. Oh for joy the summer is slipping away. Re: Forest River Rockwood ultra lite travel trailer
PhylWe have a Livin Lite 2011 VRV that we love, but this last year we started seeing a bubbling and corrosive area on the hinge area of the ramp door. I've contacted our dealer we purchased from, HW Motorhomes and sent them pictures via email 8 days ago. Today I followed up with Dan White and he said he contacted Livin Lite and they told him to go to the door mfg. Challenger Door. We anticipate a favorable outcome with replacement or repair on the damaged ramp door.Re: VRV by Livin Lite

Patty O CamperNoticed a lot of folks looking for an owners manual for their R-Vision Trailer. What most if not all manufacturers do is give you a vague booklet with almost no real useful information, but they do give you a seemingly endless supply of manufacture's manuals for every component in your unit. (These include your A/C, water heater, furnace, refrigerator, electric panel, kitchen range, etc, etc, etc.....a very big pile of paper. All the parts ans appliances in every RV, travel trailer, motor home etc seem to come from the same group of manufacturers that cater to the RV makers. Therefore no matter what you buy they are all very similar. Quality differences vary from manufacturer to manufacturer in materials and fit and finish. No matter what brand you research you will find complaints. Remember these traveling mini-homes take quite a beating bouncing down the highways. I did notice many "soft-floor" issues. In order to keep the weight down thin light weight materials are used....add water from leaks and you have soft floors etc. it is the nature of the beast. The longer you own one of these traveling mini homes the better a handyman you will become.Re: R-Vision Trail-Lite travel trailer
KamloopsThinking of buying a 2014 Ram 3500 to pull our 3100 RL Montana. Clearance between truck box and fifth wheel is only a few inches. Will a sliding hit h and raising the king pin assembly solve this? Will fifth wheel still ride level? Has anyone raised the coach up on the axels? Can't flip the axels as springs are already above. RonI have a 2010 F405 Fuzion Touring Edition II Toyhauler and it has been the worst camper I have ever had. I have had every electric motor replaced at least once. Two slide outs completely rebuilt, batteries won't last more than 30 hours with just the refrigerator on in storage for a couple days. I was on a trip in Washington in 2011 and it took Camping World 8 weeks to fix my trailer because they couldn't get the parts. And I live full time in my trailer and Keystone would not reinburst me for any food or lodging but the warrenty did cover the problems. I just replaced all 6 tires because 4 of them went flat in a trip from Texas to Alabama to Iowa. The problem looks like it is because my suspension is under weight and is broke or bent out of shape. I ordered new suspension and was told the suspension I had was for 3500 to 6000# axles and my trailer has triple 7000# axles and the gross weight is 18,500#. This thing has been nothing but a lemon, I love it but .... it is a lemon. Re: Keystone Fuzion toy hauler travel trailer
TimbContinue to have LR slide problems. Nownun Billings, Mt. No Rv shop wants to work on a hydraulic system. We did get a mobile repair service to help us. He did what he could to adjust the slide, bled the system. The slide is currently staying in place when retracted. Hydraulic motor is being replaced. The weight of the slide has permantly bowed the supports and one of the two support rollers is frozen. We added a wide piece of Teflon to help the slide get over the non functioning roller. Re: Four Winds Hurricane class A motorhome

TimBWe have a 2007 Hurricane 34B. We like the layout but continue to have problems with the slideouts primarily the couch/booth slide out. Very poor design. It has one center hydraulic piston (now using the 3rd one) and no other support to help guide the slide. This trip, after closing the slide, it started inching out (when driving or parked). Installed new hydraulic valve and "anti creep valve" from the Equalizer factory. When trying to close the slide it stops moving (frustrating and worrisome when traveling). At a loss on how to fix this without removing the slide and modifying the slide support system.Re: Four Winds Hurricane class A motorhome

CatherineWe really like the layout of the Fleetwood discovery, but want one with a king bed. do any exist?Re: Fleetwood Discovery
WALTMy 2011 Livin Lite VRV is now showing damage in the queen tip out doors and ramp doors due to the wood in the doors (luan) getting wet and swelling and splitting the exterior aluminum sheeting open. It also has caused the ramp door to become soft and more flexible. So after only three years, I am having to deal with water damage to wood in a supposedly "all-aluminum" camper. Why doesn't Livin Lite disclose this information about wood in the doors? Or better yet, build the doors in the same way as the body...with aluminum frame. There is no aluminum frame in the doors...instead they have chosen luan and foam composite, which is worthless when it gets wet.Re: VRV by Livin Lite
