COLUMBUS, IN – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) expects significant sales and profit growth in 2011 and beyond as it takes advantage of a number of long-term global economic trends and the recovery of key U.S. markets, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tim Solso told shareholders today at the Company’s annual meeting.

The Company expects 2011 sales to grow by nearly 30 percent from $13.2 billion in 2010 to $17 billion and Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) to be 14 percent of sales this year – both Company records – Solso said. Cummins earned a record EBIT of $1.7 billion on sales of $13.2 billion in 2010.

The Company also will significantly increase its investment in the business this year, expecting to spend as much as $650 million on capital projects to increase capacity and invest in new technologies and products for the future. In addition, the Company expects its joint ventures to make $300 million in capital investments to expand their businesses.

“The actions we have taken over the past two years have kept Cummins strong during the recession and have set the stage for a period of sustained profitable growth,” Solso said. “We have more growth opportunities ahead of us today than at any time in our history.

"Cummins’ record profitability in 2010 came despite weak commercial truck markets in the U.S.":

“Our challenge is to pursue those opportunities with the same discipline we displayed during the recent global recession. I am confident that we have the people and strategies in place to lead us to accelerated growth over the next several years.”

Solso also recapped the Company’s successful year in 2010, which included strong growth across all of the Company’s business segments and in large international markets such as China, India and Brazil. Cummins’ record profitability in 2010 came despite weak commercial truck markets in the U.S., which are expected to recover significantly in 2011 and grow further in 2012 and 2013.

“Last year showed, beyond a doubt, that Cummins is more than a North American heavy-duty truck engine maker,” Solso said. “Our Engine and Components businesses earned record profits in 2010 despite a sharp decline in our important U.S. markets, and our Power Generation and Distribution businesses performed extremely well as we continued to grow our leadership position in markets around the world.”

Re:2009 Airstream Interstate Class BTodd RichardsonDon't be fooled by its good looks! I have a 2012 and it has spent over fore months in the shop. everything from a blown transmission, a new brain for the power management, its on its third air conditioner, in the shop for the awning twice, the dvd player in the dash no longer works, the power step no longer works, and I just found out that the emaciatior pump has broke loos and is just hanging by its hoses. if you are traveling you can't get it serviced under warranty unless you take it to a airstream dealer (only one in the Midwest) The vehicle has been a complete disappointment. I called the service manager one time at the Midwest dealer and told him about a problem I was having and he said " what do you want me to do about it!"

Re: Formaldehyde in RVsNo RV BarbIt would seem formaldehyde is a useful agent if one wants to preserve/embalm a body (remember those frogs from high school biology dissections?) But it's quite a potent and yucky substance for use in what is supposed to be an enjoyable recreational vehicle. After several attempts to buy a new RV, we just gave up due to the unbearably strong, chemical gassing given off by the units which had tears streaming down my eyes within seconds of entering the trailers. Please, manufacturers, stop using this toxic substance which may be great for dead things, but not for living breathing humans or pets.

Re:Dutchmen travel trailerTerri DialSorry about the multiple posts... I did not realie that it posted the first time.
Re:Dutchmen travel trailerTerri DialI have a Dutchmen Aspen Trail Travel Trailer. I have to say that I am beyond disappointed with Dutchmen and will never buy another! We have had this trailer for under 3 years and... In the first 20 months we had three blow outs and the siding blew off on one side. We had to file a claim with our insurance to have the damage from the blow outs fixed but at the same time we had to have the siding fixed. I have the warranty that clearly states that the siding, underbelly and roof have a two-year warranty where everything else only had a 1-year warranty. When we had the siding fixed last year we, Keystone and our insurance company told the dealer to check the rest of the trailer to make sure that everything was secure so this would not happen again. This was all last year in the beginning of the year. We were also told that the warranty was out after 1 year and I had to physically take them our warranty paper stating that the siding was covered for 2. Reluctantly it was fixed. Last month we headed down to the beach. And again, the siding blew off. This time on the other side. we have our trailer at another repair shop, have spoken with Keystone/Dutchmen and after almost two weeks were told that they were not going to fix our trailer, that it was not a manufacturer defect. I'm sorry, but how is the siding blowing off of a trailer that is less than 3 years old NOT a manufacturer defect! How is siding blowing off a trailer period, NOT a defect. After filing yet ANOTHER claim to have this thing fixed we will be giving it back and I will certainly find another manufacturer that has better built trailers.

Re: Travel companionsMatthewHi. I'm a 45 swm. I'm looking to travel around june. Would like to explore the coasts and surf and fish but anywhere really is cool with me. I have no ties here in Angleton,TX. I recieve $1000 a month an also work remotely and fix cell phone and computers. I cook (20 years in the restuarant biz) and will spilt costs evenly or as needed. I'm very laid back. Enjoy outdoors and good company. I'm not an excessive talker (tho I can carry on conversations with just about anything) and have a good ear. Male or female ok. I'm very respectful and open and honest.

Re: Thor Motor Coach Showcases Brand New 2015 Motorhomes on the West CoastKen BrownI had posted a comment about our 2013 Thor Tuscany 42WX back on 11/20/2014. I found out that thor problem was not Thor but was the dealer, Giant RV in Colton Calif. They have to be the worst repair shop around, they had the coach from 11-1-14 thru 11-21-14 and only put the dishwasher together in that 3 week period and then they had it from 12-1-14 thru 1-27-15 and did not get everything fixed. They laid dirty parts and tools on top of our new bedspread, leaving a stain. After we got the coach back on 1-27-15 we found a screwdriver stuck under the rear slideout, I called them and to this date I have not heard back from them. I now have the coach at a different repair shop. I would say to stay away from Giant RV.2/23/2015 3:04:00 PM

Re: Fort Wayne RV Show Expects Nearly 300 RVs and CampersSteve MartinekJust went, spent $15, went to bathroom, left. This is a RV show that features Trailers and 5th wheels. Perhaps under 10%, if being generous, are Class C's or Class A's. So if you are in the market for a Motorhome or a Truck Camper, save your time and money.1/31/2015 9:07:00 AM
