COLUMBUS, IN – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) expects significant sales and profit growth in 2011 and beyond as it takes advantage of a number of long-term global economic trends and the recovery of key U.S. markets, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tim Solso told shareholders today at the Company’s annual meeting.

The Company expects 2011 sales to grow by nearly 30 percent from $13.2 billion in 2010 to $17 billion and Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) to be 14 percent of sales this year – both Company records – Solso said. Cummins earned a record EBIT of $1.7 billion on sales of $13.2 billion in 2010.

The Company also will significantly increase its investment in the business this year, expecting to spend as much as $650 million on capital projects to increase capacity and invest in new technologies and products for the future. In addition, the Company expects its joint ventures to make $300 million in capital investments to expand their businesses.

“The actions we have taken over the past two years have kept Cummins strong during the recession and have set the stage for a period of sustained profitable growth,” Solso said. “We have more growth opportunities ahead of us today than at any time in our history.

"Cummins’ record profitability in 2010 came despite weak commercial truck markets in the U.S.":

“Our challenge is to pursue those opportunities with the same discipline we displayed during the recent global recession. I am confident that we have the people and strategies in place to lead us to accelerated growth over the next several years.”

Solso also recapped the Company’s successful year in 2010, which included strong growth across all of the Company’s business segments and in large international markets such as China, India and Brazil. Cummins’ record profitability in 2010 came despite weak commercial truck markets in the U.S., which are expected to recover significantly in 2011 and grow further in 2012 and 2013.

“Last year showed, beyond a doubt, that Cummins is more than a North American heavy-duty truck engine maker,” Solso said. “Our Engine and Components businesses earned record profits in 2010 despite a sharp decline in our important U.S. markets, and our Power Generation and Distribution businesses performed extremely well as we continued to grow our leadership position in markets around the world.”

Re: 2015 Heartland Sundance SD 2880 RLT Fifth Wheel ReviewAllen WilliamsIf you’re about to spend thousands of $$$ for an RV, you may want to read this. I can’t go RV’ing because my 2014 HEARTLAND Wilderness leaks grey water all over the ground. I bought it NEW from CAMPING WORLD and have made 6 attempts to get the problem fixed, 4 of those attempts resulted in repairs being made, which have all failed. Camping World (multiple locations) keeps putting a band-aid on a fracture. Camping World only does repairs that Heartland will allow/approve. I have been fighting this battle with CW and HL for over a year now and it seems I have lost. “”As previously noted, CWRV Sales sold the RV “AS IS” and excluded from the sale all express or implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.””---David Partin, Camping World RV Sales. “Additional components which have been installed in the recreational vehicle, including but not limited to microwave ovens, ranges, refrigerators, leveling jacks, furnaces/heaters, generators, power converters, batteries, and other items not specifically manufactured by Heartland RV, LCC, are warranted by the component manufacturers as detailed in their individual manufacturers warranties, and are not covered by this Limited Warranty”--- excerpt from my Heartland owner’s manual. So between the two above “disclaimers” good luck getting your Camping World/Heartland RV repaired correctly under warranty. My warranty has now expired, while sitting at a Camping World location awaiting repairs, after having spent almost half its life in repair shops. Do your research, make your own decision and good luck RV’ing. Beware…Heartland makes, and Camping World sells a lot of brands. Items that have fallen off, broken, or failed: spare tire cover, holding tank drain cap, holding tank T-handle, TV mounting screws, rear bumper end cap, oven wouldn’t stay lit, exit door threshold, stabilizer mounting screws, shore power coupling mounting screws, kitchen sink drain plumbing, bathroom sink drain plumbing, external propane coupling, water heater wiring bundle, kitchen drawer, main entry door, main entry screen door, mattress collapsed, TV cable connector, shower faucet valves(both), shower drain plumbing leak. Oh yeah, it was still winterized upon delivery and the tires weren’t even aired up. If this sounds like sour grapes, it is, because I have a brand new, at time of purchase, $20,000 RV that I can’t use and can’t get fixed. Thanks CAMPING WORLD and HEARTLAND for putting an expensive and disheartening impediment to my retirement. This post is regarding my purchase and ownership of a 2014 Heartland Wilderness from Camping World. No other dispute with Camping World, Heartland, et al is expressed nor implied.

Re: Keystone Montana fifth wheelRandyThe tires on our Montana 3402RL were feathering badly, so I took it to a professional RV/truck axle shop in Mesa, AZ. He said the axles were out of alignment, (less than 4,000 miles on the RV) They realigned them, at a cost of $400. I rotated the tires and just recently went on a 1,300 mile trip. When we got home, I looked at the tires to see how they were doing. The tires are still feathering badly, to the point where I will have to purchase 4 new tires before we head to Michigan next week. The current tires are Goodyear, ST 23585R16 load range F. I am looking at Karrier tires, which are highly rated RV tires.

Re: Little Dealer Little Prices RV Relocation Liquidation at Indian SchoolBill AbernathyThe "Little Dealer Little Prices" showed "Very Little" interest in entertaining our interest in any product priced at less than $30,000. We got a rude salesman, a bumpy ride to a few RV's that did not meet our needs, and not even a "Thanks for coming in." We went to RV Trader and drove to Carson City to get our wonderful 2008 Chalet 1935XL - which curiously has the floor plan of the 1937. We would have paid $28K for a new one, but the local Chalet dealer took 7 months to call us back. Thanks for saving us $15K
