Wagon Train - RV caravan - Roaming Times
It's not like this any more ...

Why caravan?

Faced with the vast unknown, Lewis and Clark and Marco Polo used Indian guides. In the Old West, the wagon train was the way to go.

Today, astute RVers choose the RV caravan because it leaves you free to concentrate on what you took the trip for in the first place -- your own personal enjoyment.

Tracks to Adventure say that ninety-six percent of returning caravaners state their tour met or exceeded expectations.

With an experienced caravan company there are no surprises - all expenses are stated up front

On a caravan tour you can forget about:

  • spending hours looking for a suitable campsite.
  • wrestling with required advance reservations based upon limited information.
  • worrying about fuel and propane availability.
  • being concerned about security.
  • worrying about unknown road conditions or breakdown in a remote area.
  • disappointment with substandard accommodations.

RVers want a memorable, relaxing vacation experience they can depend on day after day, to enjoy their travel partner and develop new friendships with fellow RVers.

We thank Tracks RV Tours for this article - they've been doing it for more than three decades!

GilmanWe went to Mexico in April with Caravan Tours. We really enjoyed it and it was very good value for money.
The Eggesteins Tracks Alaska 30 days tour. The reservations were made ahead of time for meals and campgrounds, the route was planned for the scenic areas, the wagon masters had knowledge of fuel stops and road conditions, and help was always available for mechanical and tire problems. Our highlights included the vast, open spaces and the drives from one stop to the next. We were amazed to see the amount of water in the rivers and creeks. The little towns like Chicken, Stewart, Valdez, and Homer (fishing) were wonderful. The wildlife along the roads, roaming about, Fairbanks, Denali park, Cassiar Highway and the Stewart Glacier area were also highlights of ours. No improvements needed! We went on our tour with Tracks after we heard from others that the tours are good and conducted well. We are planning on going on the Great Lakes and Viking tours next with Tracks.
