The versatile VRV Quicksilver - see RoTi review
|
Wakarusa, IN – When Arkansas
native Tom Brawley began tinkering in his garage in
an effort to make his cargo trailer more versatile,
he had no idea that just over a year later he would
see his patent-pending design become a hit at the
popular Daytona Bike Week. |
“My goal was to design something that I could use both during the week and on the weekend,” shares Brawley, “It needed to be able to carry a good amount of cargo; transport large items such as washing machines or refrigerators; yet also be able to put my motor bikes and ATVs in; enjoy a weekend of camping with my family; even take my kid to college – all in a trailer that was light weight enough to be able to tow with my SUV.”
After emerging from his garage with his first
prototype, Brawley found that friend and local RV Dealer Chris
Block of National Travelers RV (Conway, Arkansas) wanted to sell
them at his dealership. “In just the first month, we saw an
unbelievable amount of consumer response to this unique
product,” says Block, “So much so that I advised Tom (Brawley)
that he needed to seriously consider bringing his concept to
market by getting his idea patented and partnering with an
established recreational vehicle manufacturer.’
That’s when Brawley started his patent
process, based on a cargo trailer with soft-sided, tip-out
bunks. Soon after, Block introduced Brawley to Scott Tuttle and
Livin’ Lite Recreational Vehicles, manufacturers of the
all-aluminum QUICKSILVER tent campers carried by National
Travelers. “What Scott and his team at Livin’ Lite have done
with our product is nothing short of amazing.” states Brawley.
“They have taken a platform that was based on a steel and
plywood cargo trailer and transformed it into a super
lightweight, all-aluminum, aerodynamic trailer with a look and
feel that is as unique as the VRV concept itself.”
The all-new VRV QUICKSILVER trailer features
tip out bunks; all-aluminum construction (frame, sidewalls, roof
trusses, even floor decking); 6’-5” interior height for today’s
popular ATVs with roll-cages; multiple exterior colors
highlighted with diamond plate accents and custom aluminum
fenders. The all-new VRV includes a 5x12 model for a single
motorcycle or ATV and tip-out bunk that features a dry weight of
only 1,100 lbs., and a 7x16 model with double tip-out bunks and
a living quarters area featuring aluminum cabinetry, closets and
private commode room where an optional Dometic cassette toilet
can be utilized – weighing an amazingly light 2,100 lbs.
MSRPs on the VRV are $5,999 for the 5x8
version and $11,999 for the 7x16 model.
Next on the drawing board for VRV QUICKSILVER
is a 8.5x22 model with dual tip-out bunks, living quarters and
fold-up sofa and dinette for maximum cargo capacity.
Brawley shares that following the successful
debut of his unique VRV cargo/camping trailer at the recent
Daytona Bike Week, he will be showing it at the ATV “Mud
Nationals” event in near Dallas Texas in March, followed by the
Moab Utah UTV Show in April.
“What we are finding is that people are
really attracted to the VRV’s overall value for the investment,
says Brawley “In today’s economy, versatility is key and our VRV
is about as versatile as they come – all in an ultra lightweight
design that can be towed by a large number of vehicles.”
“Versatile – in an ultra
lightweight design that can
be towed by a large number
of vehicles....”
