A PENT-UP DEMAND
FOR RVs?"
|
|
|
|
| Sure, the
RV industry is not looking
good - but it just mirrors
the overall economy and it's
cyclical |
-
VACATION
ABROAD? - Many Americans
like to take a vacation abroad but
the dollar is weak and fuel costs -
and therefore transportation costs -
are high
-
STAY
CLOSE TO HOME? - One
solution is RV travel - within a
fairly short distance from home.
But why use a gas-guzzling RV?
Because it's still cheaper than
flying and staying in hotels ...
-
RECESSION? - Bloomberg News
predicted this in November 2007: "As
the U.S. housing slump worsens,
gasoline prices rise and consumer
confidence wanes, RV sales are
forecast to slide this year and
next"
-
RV PARKS
DOING GOOD BUSINESS! -
Many campgrounds are having better
than normal traffic. This
is mainly the result of people
staying closer to home as we
commented above and according to the
RVIA, RV rentals of
motorhomes are up about18%
-
A PENT-UP
DEMAND FOR RVs? - The RVIA
says it's optimistic and sees
evidence that there is a lot of
pent-up demand for the vehicles
which an upswing in the economy
would bring out. "The history
of the RV industry has been
cyclical," they say. "It tends to
mirror the overall economy. In the
long-term, people will save money by
traveling in an RV." But maybe
we really need to change the RVs ...
-
WE NEED
BIG CHANGES WITH RVs ,
greener and more fuel efficient -
RoTi readers constantly tell us this, -
particularly with
luxury coaches,
class A,
class B, and
class C - and this industry also
needs "to
improve its readiness for upcoming
change" ..
