R-Vision Trail-Lite travel trailer

"Super light weight - safe, easy, fuel efficient towing"
Base MSRP - awaiting manufacturer's information

The R-Vision Trail-Lite is described as "Super light weight - safe, easy, fuel efficient towing."  It has a "corrosion free underbelly for effortless towing and low maintenance" and a laminated aluminum framed construction for "superior strength, light weight and exceptional durability."

The Trail-Lite has six lengths - between about 24' and 31'6".  There are 6 floorplans and we show 4 of these below:

The 8230 (shown below) is 24'1" long. A simple arrangement with bathroom, kitchen and living area, and a queen bed.  No slides, just a nice arrangement.

The second we show is the 8250S - about 4'longer at 28'3" with a slide in the living area.. (These floorplans - to maximize the space and make them as easy as possible to look at - are not shown to the same scale of course ..)  The bedroom and living areas are separated - there's even 2 doors, one to each area.

The 8310S has a length of 31'6" an extra 3'3" with a longer slide.  This is the longest Trail Lite and this model is a family trailer with bed arrangements at each end.

All of the Trail-Lite travel trailers have an interior height of 6'6" and R-Vision says they all have a "spacious feeling."  There's a choice of fabrics and woods as you can see in the picture below:

Some of the features of the Trail-Lite:

  • Super light weight - "safe, easy, fuel efficient towing
  • Lower center of gravity - "stable, safe towing with today's down sized tow vehicles"
  • One-piece steel chassis (powder coated)

Suzzieq37 :   looking at buying a 2002 trail-lite bantam garage height hybrid. Does anyone know anything about them?

Bennie :   Does anyone own a 2004 30 foot Trail Crusier Travel Trailer and have an operators manual that be copied and mailed to me, or does anyone know where I can find one.

R Morgan :   i bought a 2001 Lite Travel 28ft. on Ebay & have enjoyed it . I do need an owners manual.Any suggestions where to get one?

Mike Griffin :   My wife and I purchased a 1999 28ft Trail lite used=If this was a boat we would have sunk. It takes on water==delaminates on the sides==rots the flooring==one thing after another==indicater gauges are worthless==your money would be better spent on any other unit by another mfg.==will probably strip it and make a snowmobile trailer out of it==enough said....

Roger S :   We had a 1999 TrailLite bantam and enjoyed it except for the fact that wwe could not keep tires on it. they began to show wear after 1000 miles and blew out before 2500 miles. inspection showed poor alignment and no way to align them. The dealer replaced the axel under warranty but that did not help. The manufactorer replaced it again with no improvement. we finally had the wheels balanced, did not help so we traded it in. The service was always good but evidently the design was bad.

Tom Sacramento, CA :   we bought a 2004 30 ft Trail-Lite and tow it with a Tundra, and get mid-teens. We have had several recurring problems all minir except delam of the front cap. Now getting second replacement. Dealer has been excellent in repairs. OK for a light weight. Look elsewhere for a long term investment though.

gary, lapine, oregon :   we bought a 22 foot r vision travel trailer, and have been pulling it with our 2009 toyota tacoma 2.7 4 cylinder motor, with good results. we averaged 17 miles to the gallon.

RayInAZ :   We have a 2007 R-Vision Travel Lite 30 ft travel trailer. Generally for the money this is an excellent trailer. But don’t expect the interior fit and finish to match that of more expensive units; as these are just adequate and nothing more. The lack of wardrobe space is an issue, we made note of this before buying the unit; but it has turned out to be a larger issue that we realized. We’ve replaced all the vent covers with “unbreakable” polycarbonate covers; the original vents were destroyed by the Arizona sun in 1 year. The black tank indictor failed at 18 months, we didn’t replace it as we seldom dry camp and we know how long we can camp before we need to dump. A super slide is a must. Rate 4/5.

Keith and June Bowen :   We have a 2006 R-Vision class B. We downsized from a class A and have not regretted it. Better mileage and easier to drive with the class b, park and store all more than make up for less space. In fact we love the floorplan of the 213 although we don't have a slide. If we were buying again we'd probably go for the 235S which is only a few inches longer but has a slide. We've had very few problems and we've enjoyed using this more than we did the class A.

Tony and Claire Munro :   We have a 2003 Trail Lite 24 ft and have towed it all over the US. We've had a few problems but our dealings with R-Vision have all been positive. The biggest problem we had was the bathroom door would not close without slamming it. The dealer fixed this after a few attempts (it needed the whole frame redoing). We had a propane leak that was easily fixed and a water leak that was fixed but caused some water damage problems. We had these repaired to our satisfaction. We also had a few minor electrical problems but really we've enjoyed the trailer and think we've had value for money. Based upon your experiences, would you buy one of this manufacturer's RVs again?: Yes. Rating: 4/5.

Edwin J :   Some interior items corrected when new under warranty otherwise very good experience. Liveable system for extended time aboard, good handling and powerful. Light colors and hardwood treatment. Easy in and out access All warranty issues handled by authorization of factory through out side of dealership network as no dealer in area. Very prompt and effective. Purchased in Lapeer Michigan owner stored in Louisiana. Based upon your experiences, would you buy one of this manufacturer's RVs again?: Yes. Rating: 4/5.
