Well Jim. I have a 6 year old Country Coach Allure that is in perfect condition in every way. I've never seen any coach built as well as Country Coach and I've owned more than a few. Anyone who calls themselves "Professor of RVing" and complains about such obiviously fabricated stuff (Corian cracking? Entry handle snapping off? Give me a break) is clearly a farce. Get a life.
Jim Twamley, Professor of RVing
:
Follow-on to post below: So your expectation is that a new motorcoach should fall apart in seven years? Really? You sir have missed my point. RV manufacturers are NOT making high quality products, they are mediocre at best. The RV industry likes to see us lay down our $400,000.00 every few years so you can spend the first two years in their repair facilities getting warranty work done on stuff that they should have been manufactured correctly the first time. So, ANY company who wishes to claim the title "World's Finest" for any products it manufactures and places into the stream of commerce had better make products that back up claim. :
Jim Twamley here, Interesting you do not identify yourself. You say I have an 8 year old Country Coach and imply that it was not properly maintained. It was kept inside a climate controlled building for seven of those 8 years. This week National RV the former owner of Country Coach just went out of business. They made the "World's Finest Motorcoaches" with faulty fiberglass siding. You also don't know that after I fixed the pantry shelf with screws (not the cheap staples Country Coach used) it hasn't moved and stays put. I also have a Honda CRV the same age as the coach and guess what - nothing has EVER gone wrong with it and it has way more miles than my Country Coach. More in next post
Original Owner of a 2000 CC Intrigue
:
The Pantry shelves will fall off the wall if they are overloaded with heavy items and then bounced down the road---duh! Last time I checked CC was not making the engine components, so you probably need to take up the fuel boost pump issue with the engine manufacturer. And, after 8 years most second hand coaches are going to need some maintenance so doesn't sound like you have had an excess of failures. You didn't think an 8 year old rig was going to be as good as new, did you, "Professor" Jim?
Original Owner of a 2000 CC Intrigue
:
Jim Twamley has an 8 year old Country Coach and he is complaining about items that would be failing by this time. The roof issue means that the roof was not maintained properly with 303 or some other protection product. BTW, who granted you the title of Professor of RVing?
