Rexhall Aerbus / RexAir
"Every uniquely designed interior is luscious and comfortable"
New - special price - factory direct - see ad on this page

Rexhall is a 21-year-old company that has sold nationwide through its dealer body and two factory owner dealerships in California and Arizona. It is, however, in the process of possibly repositioning itself for the benefit of the consumer to become not only a dealer-based company but also, an internet-based company  where you could buy through the factory via the internet. You could then take delivery at the dealer of your choice, and because Rexhall offers the use of over 250 independent service centers throughout the United States, service shouldn't be a problem. In fact, this could prove to be better than the majors. (This review was written late 2008.)

Rexhall Aerbus exterior

The Rexhall Aerbus / Rexair (virtually the same other than external color) is built on a Workhorse UFO chassis with a GM Vortec V8 engine (340HP @ 4200RPM.). The length is 37'6".

We should also mention here that while the Workhorse UFO will be offering a Diesel engine in the near future, they have not released it yet. They have however obtained the Workhorse R32 Diesel chassis with a Cat C7 7.2 liter 360HP engine. This is currently available with details on the Rexhall website (see link below.)

The shape is unique with 2 enormous patented slides but Rexhall says "the fun doesn't stop on the outside, from curved entrance stairs to elegant finishing, every uniquely designed interior is luscious and comfortable."

Aerbus is silver and charcoal and RexAir is gold and Champagne Gold.

We show each of the 4 floorplans below.  The first is the GT 375 RB.  2 slides - but just look at the length of them. This arrangement has a rear bathroom and an unusually spacious bedroom:

The GT 375 SB - the bathroom is moved forward to give a big closet area:

Next we show the GT 375 SS - a rear bathroom again, but this time with more space in the living area.

And finally, we show the GT 375 TT - The kitchen area and refrig. are moved to the front.

Readers' comments:

George from Orlando :   Great running coach, when it starts. We have had nothing but electrical problems since we bought it two years used. The layout is great, thats what sold us. The Ford V-1o runs great, and the slides are really large. If anyone knows what is the problem with the electric please let me know. Its been to five different service locals ( all reputable ), and thats another story with the RV industry.

CATFISHLON :   THE CHROME COVERS THAT PUSH ONTO THE REAR WHEEL CENTERS. THESE ARE A VERY POOR DESIGN. THEY PUSH ONTO FOAM RUBBER THAT IS WOUND AROUND THE LUG NUTS. THE INNER TIRE AIR LINE IS RIVITED TO THIS CHROME COVER. WHEN THE COVER COMES OFF (ALWAYS AT 55-65 MPH) IT RIPS THE RIVITES LOOSE AND THE AIR LINE JUST FLOPS AROUND. USUALLY THE COVER IS LOST UNLESS IT HITS ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THEY CATCH UP TO YOU. ANY ONE HAVE AN IDEA FOR REPLACEMENTS FOR THESE COVERS? THANKS, LON PIERCE

Ken :   We got a 1999 rexair and love it: the interior layout sold us on it. First RV for us and no complaints for the four years we have owned it.

Pat :   There nice, and I definitely like the design. Aerodynamic, smooth lines, flush fit slides, etc. The way a vehicle of this sort should have always been built. BUT... have you seen the suggested retail price on these things? WOW! With Rexhall's rep and past troubles keeping the factory doors open I think they're blowing it big time.

David Hall :   Own a 2004 rexair--and don't know where to start with all the problems, from both slide outs leaking. And you don't want to call Rexair they are no help and they always give you someone who doesn't speak english.
