YARMOUTH, Maine — DeLorme, the innovation leader in mapping and GPS technology,
introduced Topo USA®
7.0
on
November
28,
2007, with significant new detail, plus aerial imagery, nautical charts, and GPS features unavailable in other software programs.
The detail includes over 3 million new or updated roads, more than four million places of interest from the DeLorme Street Atlas USA® 2008 database, and 40,000 locations from the renowned DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteer™ series of topographic map books.
|
Along with the new detail and datasets, users will find new photo GeoTagging, superior geocaching support, plus unique support for popular GPS wrist computers.
Users will be able to access six types of map, chart, and aerial imagery downloads. New options include color aerial imagery, NOAA nautical charts, and USGS high resolution city imagery. The previously available USGS 1:24,000 quads, USGS black and white aerial, and 10-meter color satellite imagery options remain.
“Topo USA 7.0 data offers the most up-to-date topographic, road, and trail data available,” said Caleb Mason, Director of Marketing at
DeLorme.
“However, we believe that the more types of map and imagery options you have available, the more successful your travel planning and navigation will be. With six different types of maps and imagery, we offer by far the widest range of options available for topographic map users.”
|

|
Users will be able to display and GPS track on routes on any of the different types of map, imagery, and chart datasets.
DeLorme makes the additional datasets available via the Topo USA software’s NetLink tab (Internet access required). Users will find a certificate for $100 in Data Download Dollars in their Topo USA 7.0 package.
