EL DORADO HOT SPRINGS POB 10, Tonopah, Arizona 85354 623-386-5412 HotSprings@El-Dorado.com www.el-dorado.com "S/He who believes that enough is enough will always have enough." Lao Tzu Greetings, We'd like to introduce you to El Dorado Hot Springs, a rustic western mineral water spa located over an enormous natural subterranean hot spring. As nearly as possible, El Dorado offers a genuine desert hot spring soaking adventure, but with amenities, in a verdant and simple desert oasis. Practiced and enjoyed for millennia, hot mineral water soaking is one of the oldest forms of natural therapy. The Motel California cabin has a radio, reading lamp, geoheat, AC, coffee/tea service and full bath. We've added a brand new mattress and box spring, refrigerator and microwave. It's $60 for one or $80 for two, with EITHER 24 hours unlimited soaking in the semiprivate area OR two 1 hour private soaks per person in an area of their choice. Ask about the availability of adding unlimited private soaking for only $25 per person. The Last Resort cabin is in a very private location. Currently it's $50 for one and $70 for two, including AC, geoheat, coffee and tea and EITHER two 1 hour private soaks OR unlimited soaking in the semiprivate area. It has an upper bunk for extra guests. Ask about the availability of adding unlimited private soaking for only $25 per person. There's a large room in the former old Post Office; it's clean, with a nice heater, lights, bed, linens, table, chairs, reading lamp, AC private bath with mineral water shower, coffee and tea, refridge, and microwave. Best of all, it has an historic ancient private soak in a huge old masonry tank. Two new air conditioners keep the rooms cool in hot weather. It's $65 for 2 or $45 for 1, which includes unlimited soaking in your own private indoor historic tub. Note again, it's very old, but it's quite functional and being improved all the time. The La Paloma room is $45 for 1 and $65 for two, with a soaking package of EITHER two 1 hour private soaks OR unlimited soaking in the semiprivate area. It's a new, small room in the massage building with a futon on the floor, hot spring heat, evaporative cooler, and a toilet and sink one door down. El Dorado is searching for a Summer Manager or Summer Manager Couple for May to October or longer, as well as Work Campers during the fall, winter, and spring and summer -- inquire if interested. Therapeutic massage available by appointment. The Stone Labyrinth beckons, as does nearby Stone Meditation Circle. Shade cloth slides over the outdoor tubs, misting systems are in place, and cool tubs are available so soaking is comfortable when the sun is hot. A Million Miles From Monday, El Dorado is the home of the one hour mineral water shower, a place where the hot water never runs out. Compliments of Mother Earth, the waters are like an elixir, akin to bathing in liquid silk. El Dorado Hot Springs is blessed by the Cadillac of spring waters. The main cations are sodium, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. The main anions are chloride, bicarbonate, sulfate, silicates, fluoride, and boron. There is no iron or sulfur, making the water odorless and tasteless. Trace amounts of lithium make soakers feel very relaxed. A natural pH of 8.2 acts like a conditioner on one's skin and hair. Campfires encouraged; good and cheap hardwood firewood for sale. Washer and drier for fifty cents each per load; we don't have to heat the hot water. RV dump and water fill available. There's a phone line for guests for personal calls and email. We sell the bibles of hot springs, HOT SPRINGS & HOT POOLS OF THE SOUTHWEST and HOT SPRINGS & HOT POOLS OF THE NORTHWEST. Take the break you deserve; visit El Dorado for a natural hot water soak. Envision basking in a large open air private bath - you can make the water cooler in hot weather and hotter in cool weather. Imagine gazing at the stars under crystal clear skies or just being alone with yourself. On a clear night, you can see forever. Soaking is $7.50 for 1 hour, $15 for 2 hours, and $20 for all day. 24 hour extended soaking with a parking site is $25 per person. Private pools are $10 per hour per person for each of the first two hours and $7.50 per hour per person after that. Reservations are STRONGLY suggested on weekends and holidays. Children are half price. Other options are available. Ask about our 25% Frequent Soaker and late arrival/early out discounts. Bring a jug or two and take home some pure El Dorado spring water. We have ice cold soda and bottled water for sale. Bring sandals, robe, and flashlight if you visit at night. Arrivals welcome from 9am-9pm, every day of the year. El Dorado's 8.7 acres are in Tonopah (Native American for "hot water under the bush"), 40 miles west of Phoenix, near I-10 on a paved road with most services close by. More hot mineral baths are under construction. Nearby is Tonopah Joe's Truck Stop, Restaurant, and Lounge, an RV park that welcomes pets, mega acres of BLM land for free camping, biking, hiking, 4 wheeling, petroglyph and wildlife viewing, rock hounding, etc. No smoking or alcohol in common areas. No dogs please. At El Dorado, Mother Sun is our clock and peace, quiet, and the utmost respect for the space of others abounds. The main Saturday night activity might be constellation study under crystal clear skies, quiet conversation, or restful relaxation in a large hot bath. After greeting Mother Sun, Sunday might bring discussions of Native Americana, meditation, or just simple quiet time enjoying Bach, Debussy, The Eagles, Kitaro, Shostakovich, or Strauss. Or... nothing but the sounds of silence. Tonopah once was home to at least seven hot mineral water spas. Two of these historic sites border El Dorado, including the last one to operate which was owned by a local legend, Tonopah Doc Gear. We welcome all responsible people and look forward to your visit. The water is always warm at El Dorado.
