About the camp and the water fun
available:
DeSoto Caverns Park has several streams and ponds to enjoy as well as a interactive fountain that will cool you off on a hot day. The park also has a Squirt Gun Maze, Water Balloon Battle, Water Dodge, Wacky Water Golf, Paddle Boats, and Gemstone Panning & Slucing.
DeSOTO CAVERNS PARK - Alabama’s BIG Cave & MORE!
Boasts of being one of the most beautiful, and historic show caves in the U.S.
Features an Awesome laser light, sound, water show in the Great Onyx Cathedral, larger than a football field, higher than a 12-story building and full of onyx stalagmite and stalactite formations. Learn of the history about the prehistoric Indians that lived and died in the caverns, Confederate Soldiers that mined gunpowder, early Indian Traders that visited, and moonshine making during probation times. Open year-round with a cave temperature of 60 degrees, the park offers campgrounds, gift shop with snack bar, scenic picnic area & pavilions near waterfalls, fountains, streams and ponds. Spend the day playing on the 21 outside attractions:
1. Water Dodge -- Move fast or you get wet as you traverse this labyrinth of pulsating motion detector water fountains!
2. Happy’s Hoops– Wacky basketball at its best. Try your luck at 10 of the most misshapen basketball hoops known to man!
3. DeSoto’s Cave Crawl Box -- Simulates crawling through a cave. This multi-twisting, turning experience takes you over, down and through a series of meandering chambers with only one way out -- and you must find it or else!
4. DeSoto’s Cave Wall Climb -- Simulates cave wall climbing in a horizontal direction. Are you surefooted enough to cross this expanse of “stepping stones”?
5. DeSoto’s Lost Trail Maze -- One of the park’s favorite attractions. Three-quarter acre dizzying dead-end after dead-end. Can you find your way to the three Indian Villages in the Maze, and then out?
6. Water Balloon Battle -- Two battle stations – Indian Teepee and a Spanish Fort. Two opposing armies. Both armed to the teeth -- only with water balloons. Prepare to get wet!
7. Panning for Gemstones -- We provide the pans, the stream and the “hidden” gemstones. You provide the ingenuity and the patience for your reward -- sapphires, onyx, rubies.
8. Bow & Arrow Shoot -- Ready, aim, shoot. Can you hit the moving targets?
9. Squirt-Gun Maze -- Much like DeSoto’s Lost Trail Maze -- only wetter. You’re armed with a high powered squirt-gun, and who knows who’s sneaking ‘round the corner...
10. Crystal Find – Crawl around in the sand while searching for the beautiful crystal rocks to fill you bag with. It’s hard to find the big ones, but worth the search.
11. Happy’s Obstacle Challenge – It’s a race through an air-inflated obstacle course. Two exact course side by side so you can challenge someone to beat you through the 11 obstacles in the 80-foot course.
12. Happy Hernando’s Super Slide – It’s the biggest, and fastest slide you have been on. It’s thirty feet tall, but don’t be scared, it is all inflated with air so you get a soft landing every time.
13. Happy’s Peddle Go-carts - On you mark, get set, go, go, go. These go-carts go as fast as you can peddle them. This is a race that involves not only your steering ability, but also you leg strength. If you get tired, just enjoy a nice ride around the track a few times.
14. Happy’s Hoppin’ Cave - Kids love to jump and bounce around in this inflated cave.
15. Wacky Water Golf – 9 holes of the wettest putt putt you have ever experienced. Each hole has two water obstacles that you have to put around. Look out, when you least expect it you might get squirted.
16. Happy’s TwinSpin – This ride will spin you and your three buddies in circles as fast as you want to pump it. Guaranteed to make you dizzy!
17. Happy’s Paddle Boats – Both young and old will enjoy paddling around our lagoon in these little one man bumper boats.
18. Happy’s Roller Racers – These are little scooter type cars that small children enjoy maneuvering around a small track using there own power.
19. Happy Hernando’s Park Express – Take a ride on Park’s small Trackless Train and tour around the grounds.
11. Happy’s Obstacle Challenge – It’s a race through an air-inflated obstacle course. Two exact course side by side so you can challenge someone to beat you through the 11 obstacles in the 80-foot course.

20. Happy’s Potty Racers (New in 2003) – They look like toilets with handle bars and small wheels, but when you set on one, look out, because then you really got to go!
21. Happy’s Rock & Roll (New in 2003) – This ride is for those who like to stand on there heads. It is like a big hamster wheel that four people sit in and are buckled up so that when they rock their bodies back and forth the wheel rolls them in a 360 circle. Not for those with a weak stomach.
