How to get there - information provided
by the camp:
From Los Angeles: Take any eastbound freeway, then take I-15 south to Temecula. Then take Highway 79 south approximately 41 miles to S-2, Turn left and proceed 4.5 miles to S-22, which takes you through Ranchita, into the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and down to the desert valley floor. At the stop sign at the bottom, the cross street is Palm Canyon Drive. Turn right towards the community of Borrego Springs. Proceed east through the village on Palm Canyon Drive. One-half mile past Christmas Circle turn left (north) on DiGiorgio Road. The Resort entrance is approximately 0.6 miles on the right.
From San Diego: Take I-15 North to Scripps Poway Parkway or Poway Rd, then Highway 67 to Ramona, then Highway 78 to Santa Ysabel. At Santa Ysabel turn left onto Highway 79 toward Warner Springs. Turn right at S-2, 4.5 miles to a left on S-22, which takes you through Ranchita, into the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and down the Montezuma Grade into the desert valley floor.
From Palm Springs: Take I-10 east to Highway 86-S. Proceed south to Salton City. Turn right (west) on S-22. Approximately a 30 minute drive will bring you to Borrego Springs. 1.5 miles past the airport, turn right (north) on DiGiorgio Road. The resort entrance is approximately 0.6 miles on the right.
Many travelers from the west have expressed their desire to avoid the steep winding road that we call the Montezuma Grade. While the Grade is the shortest and fastest route into the valley from parts west, an alternate route by way of Shelter Valley is less winding and less steep, and is preferred by many RVers. The alternate route is only 12 miles longer and even slow-moving RVs will take only around 20 minutes longer to arrive.
Alternate Route :From either direction on Highway 79, turn toward Borrego on S2. Continue past the turnoff to S22 (Montezuma Valley Road) and continue on S2 approximately 12 miles to the intersection of Hiway 78. Turn left (eastbound) on 78, and proceed approximately 7 miles to S3 (Yaqui Pass Road). Turn left on S3, then a 12 mile drive will bring you to the Christmas Circle at the center of Borrego Springs. Proceed east on Palm Canyon Drive for one-half mile, the turn left on DiGiorgio Road. The Resort is 0.6 miles ahead on the right.( Second Driveway on the Right )
